OSPS cashback help
Comments

Sorry, everyone. A few days didn't come here. My cashback situation is very bad!! Never OSPS!!
I ordered a promise match deal from OSPS on 16/05/07, according the their T&C, my first claim is month4, i.e. 120 days after connection. Therefore, my claim is valid from 16/09/07 and it will expire within 30 days.
My network operator is Carphonewarehouse O2. I registered an online account in August to look at my remaining airtime and I found they stopped sending me the paperbill from then on. In the past, I had a contact with O2 directly, they always sent me the paperbills even I got an online acount. So I don't know such situation with CPW O2.
In the early of September, I called CPW O2 customer service and asked them to send me a original paperbill (4th bill, tariff cover 01/09/07-30/09/07). And I recieved it but it was a duplicate copy of my bill ('copy of my invoice' is showing in the bill). I sent this bill and my claim form to OSPS on 17/09/07 with recorded mail, and their response came back to me on 24/09/07.
They said, its been rejected coz of not original bill and they don't accept copy or online bill. so they can't issue the cashback for this time and for the future claims as well (T&C: Where a valid claim has not been received by us within one calendar month of the required bill, which is the closing date for your claim. You will not be entitled to any part of the Cash Back offered. Cash back files are closed and cannot be reopened in these cases).I think they intend not to pay out because I am still in cut-off period. I
Another funny thing is they said they normally charged £10 for incorrect claim, but this time they will waive it to me.
I just wonder what is the originaly bill. They argued a duplicate copy from CPW O2 is not original. But what happened if the orginal bill was lost during post.
I phoned CPW and asked an orginal bill, but I am still waiting what they will send. My 5th bill should be arrived soon. I am counting on them.
Please give me some advice.0 -
cancel on-line billing!! especially CPW O2. I had done that, hopefully I will receive 5th bill shortly.0

chxly; I'm afraid you haven't been following the MANY threads about all this over the last month and more. And you haven't taken note of the t&c that are written clearly - even though they aren't following them. These are very basic errors repeated by SO many people. I very much doubt cpw will do anything and you're only chance in court (in my view) is to claim unfair t&c.0

But even I was wrong, I can still send this month original bill to them. My first claim will expire on 16/10/07, I still have time, am I right?
Sorry, I don't have time to follow many threads posted here and I knew they are very helpful.0 -
LOOK; If YOU don't have time, how much do you think I have to give to the people who don't?? If people don't do their home work and get it wrong then so be it. I will try to help where I can BUT there are limits - there's only one of me and I do have other things to attend to! Like you!
I give my 100% attention to my own claims and those of my friends and family, who I ordered for and guide through this so none of them end up like so many on here! I'd like to maintain my 100% record as long as possible but (unlike most of you) I am having to make sure about 8 seperate claims each month avoid falling into the usual traps. I will devote a certain amount of my knowledge and experience to help others on here but you ALL need to take more responsibility for yourselves. I wrote a basic guide which covers many of the things most people HAVEN'T done right from the start. If nothing else, when people get into trouble now they will at least have a more systematic approach next time round - if there is one!
In your case, you CAN still control the outcome IF you GET RID OF THE ON-LINE BILLING and get a PAPER ON Monday, THEN send it so they get it by 15th October.0 -
Thanks for the advice, mobilejunkie.
Yes, I did admit I made a mistake. I wanted to control the outcome but sometimes it goes wrong. I trusted CPW too much so I thought the bill from them was original. If I payed 100% attention, I will not be in this situation. It is a lesson I leart from this. I would read more information from MSE because the information posted here is so useful. And I hope the people won't repeat my mistake in the future...0 -
Trust me; MANY will as with ALL the basic mistakes!! The good news is that means if you do it right (and you still can) you get it all free!0
