Ignore the Price match t&c unless you're prepared to enforce them (which would be easy enough!). cpw are using their own "version" of t&c which they neglected to mention when people took these contracts out - but you won't find them written down anywhere. Most claims will, in fact, be too late and not paid out as a result.

What are these new t&c's then & how are they enforceable by cpw?

  • I have put a few posts on the "where already. Enforceable by the customer, not by cpw - cpw will make you do that at least half of the time now in my estimation!

Why would Gambler want to lie?

It wouldn't get him anywhere in any case.

Phoning from his handset today will be free, and his contract will end on 25/10/07.

He won't get "screwed", he'll have use of his phone till then and will pay a pro rata rental for the 11 days over his minimum 12 months contract.

Well his contract will end oct 14th & as he's not given his months notice, he will PAY for the rest of the month till he either cancels/gets another contract. The last time i looked this was a moneysaving site, ok i shouldn't have used such strong terms, but was just trying to help out a fellow MSE'r! :D. I did the same thing & forgot to cancel, they wanted to charge me for another months use.....!

His contract won't end until the completion of a month's notice.

These contracts never end unless you give notice to cancel.

Thanks. I wasn't sure whether it best to wait till the 14-Oct-07 before cancelling as I don't want to miss out on my final £90 cashback.

    I'll cancel in writing.

Orange are OK to phone in the cancellation to (they confirm it to you in writing). And you know the 30 days notice will start tomorrow. They give you name and extension number as a reference.

(Though writing to them instead of phoning does cut out all the time wasted listening to them trying to persuade you to stay)

Is it easy enough to ask for the sim to be turned into PAYG?

Yes, that can be done ok. They offer that as a last resort after you reject all the retention deals.

(Make sure they will do it as from the end of your notice period, so as not to break any cashback conditions on tariff changes during your 12 months)
