  • Hello people.

Glad I found this website and this thread - I signed up to a clearance deal with the phone spot at end of October. Samsung D600i, 02 contract, 800 minutes, 500 texts £45 a month - 11 months free by redemption blah blah.

They say I have to send 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th bill. No problem I thought, back in November when my account started.

However now, like some of you guys, I am sat here with my bills trying to work out what they mean by the 4th bill - they say the 4th bill is the one that "arrives after you have been connected for 4 months - ie. if you were connected on the 1st Jan, you need to send in the bill dated around 1st May. This is 120 days (4 months) after connection."

NOW - THE PROBLEM - 02 seem to have billed me in advance. I was connected to Phonespot on 1st November, and I have a bill from 02 DATED 2nd November, charging me £46.45.

I also have my next three bills - dated 2 Dec, 2 Jan, and 2 Feb. Do I send in the bill for 2nd Feb? Technically, the bill that will show I have been connected for 120 days will be the NEXT one, dated 2 March.

However, if I send in the March one, that is actually my 5th bill. If I then wait two months and send the next one, that's the 7th. Then the 9th, then the 11th. But they've asked for the 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th!!!

I am assuming I must have to send this Feb one that I have sat here now, and I am hoping the confusion is just caused by 02 billingin advance and not because the sneaky Phonespot/E2Save/CPW people are trying to catch me out.

Have any of you had the same problem and what did you do?

Sorry for the long post. I hope I made sense.
  • Once again; it has NOTHING to do with the bill numbers. It's a price-match deal and you really don;t understand the t&c. ALL the information and guidance is on many threads - e2save and osps. I suggest you also read my guide:-

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=558661&page=1

Subject to THAT information which you should study VERY carefully the March bill would be right.

Post 5 on there covered this fully months ago.
  • Thanks for your reply. I looked at the other thread, but my specific concern isn't covered (at least I couldn't see it - I apologise if I missed it).

You say it has nothing to do with the numbers, but surely if I send my March bill (that's my fifth one), then following that I have to send May, July, Sept, and finally November.

But I can't send November because I won't get one. My last bill has to be October 08, because my first one was Nov 07.
  • You will get a final (13th) bill. There isn't ONE other thread - there are quite a few!!
  • Oh OK, 13 bills. Thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated. I didn't have time to read through all the threads, sorry.
  • Well, anyone chancing any cashback deal really needs to research first and then maintain a constant vigilance on here to avoid all the repeated and common problems. If you can't spend the time, don't pay the dime!

Bidwiser, if you see my post you will know that I was charged with the similar initial price by O2 which is £46.45. I guess you are asking the same problem as I do.
  • Yeah I read your post, it was your post I found on Google. You were advised to send your fifth bill by mobile junkie, but what I was trying to be sure of was that this was definitely right because of the whole 13th bill thing. It's not a question of not reading t and c's or not understanding them, or not doing my research, I just didn't fully understand 02's own billing system. I've done similar deals with thephonespot before, but via Virgin Mobile so this precise problem hadn't occurred to me before.

Now if someone else has the exact same query as me, their own Google search might bring them to this thread and in my own tiny way I might have contributed to the forum.

Anyway, mobile junkie has put my mind at rest now, which I am grateful for. Thanks again.

    I'm glad he does.

He did the same for me.
  • You can always call O2 and double-check that you will get a 13th bill. O2 themselves rather than cpw O2 would be handling your contract.
