PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I used the nice template from Martin to ask for my original loan contract and my bank (Lloyds) sent me a letter saying they had lost the original contract and sent me a copy. They add that they are allowed by law to do this. What now, do I do?
Hi there
I only received copies as well, you could contact the information commissioners office (ICO) for advice on this to see what they have to say if you want to.
https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
However, if PPI was taken out the ppi will still be shown on the copy agreement.
If you have been mis sold the ppi, give it a go, follow the guidelines of reclaiming here:

And ask for help if required.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi All
I have just recieved a cheque for £617.00 from Cahoot(Santander) as a refund for the ppi i was missold.
Claiming was very easy thanks to the FOS questionaire that i printed from moneysaving expert. Within 2 weeks of my sending it, i was
reimbursed the ppi i had paid and also the interest it had incurred over the last couple of years.
I urge anyone that has taken out a loan with ppi added,to attempt to reclaim it. It will cost you little more than the price of a stamp!
Thanks Martin!0 -
Well after starting the ball rolling in September 2009 with Central Trust, I have today had a phone call from the FOS to say that they are upholding my complaint!!!
I am ecstatic, I have been struggling with money for the last few years so this will really help me. I don't know how much I will be getting yet but will be sure to let you know when I do!
Thanks to all on here :j:T:rotfl::beer::money:0 -

Fab news :T:j, Congratulations and well done to you!:jThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi all, thanks for all the congrats. The bank did ask me where I would like the money paying into. I opted for the money to go onto the credit card balance as I want rid of it. I will transfer the rest onto an interest free credit card for the last little bit along with my other cards balance. The letters I used were the template letters published on this website. If you can be patient and steadfast with your claim, you may well get a good result. YIPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

That is fab, well done and Congratulations!:T:beer::j
Do you mind them refunding your success on to your credit card amount?
I know it will help reduce the balance, but I do also know that as long as there are no arrears, your in your right to request they refund directly to you, but saying that the interest side of it, should defo be refunded directly to you to what I am aware of, well done.:)
Yeah I asked the bank to pay it onto my credit card account, I want to get rid of that card completely, it had been a millstone round my neck for far too long now.0 -

Can anyone help?
Took a loan out with First National - GE Money - loans.co.uk in summer 2004 for £11000 with £1650 PPI added to it. Can i claim this back. I have paid off the loan but I feel that PPi was mis - sold! I have been told that I can't claim as it was regulated, is this true? I recieved a letter in Oct 09 to say that my PPI cover was now at its end, even though I paid the loan back in 2005 with another loan!
Would be greatful if anyone could help?0 -

Hi there and welcome.
I would go for it anyway.
What they mean I think is, that they may not have been regulated by the FSA when you were sold this policy, do not worry about that and give it a go anyway.
So I take it this was set up and sold by loans.co.uk?
Well whoever out of the 2 set this up for you, instead of writing a letter, complete the FOS questionnaire, you will find this on the link below, further down the page as stage one of reclaiming.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
The FOS issued these for this use, complete and save a copy, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
And post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of delivery.
If you don't try you will never know and people have still been successful from reclaiming from earlier loan ppi.
Good luck and please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
