Hello lovely people, have just received news from FOS that due to their intervention Royal Bank of Scotland (Natwest) have decieded to refund all Credit card PPI in line with the FOS pay back guidlines. Very Happy!

Has anyone got a time scale that Natwest take to calculate and refund claims? Thanks.x

(Hello Di and Amersall, keep up the good work!)

Hi Pinknico, hope your well and good to see you here.:A

That is fab honey, Congratulations!:beer:

I am not sure on Natwest on how long they take.......
Did the FOS give them a timescale at this point?

Hope you won't be waiting too long though, well done.:)

  • I would like to say a very big thank you to Martin and MSE for my recent success in claiming back PPI.
I received a cheque for £3580.81 from The Funding Corporation .
Initially the company refused my request to return payment and I just accepted it; but it was only after watching the Tonight programme that I decide to visit the MSE site. I used a template letter and sent this off and the company still said no; so I contacted the financial ombudsman.
The process it self took a long time but once started was effortless on my part and the ombudsman upheld my complaint.
The Funding corporation would not accept they had misold the policy but settled by refunding premiums paid
So to anyone thinking about this I would say go for it! you have nothing to lose and like myself something to gain. At last I can get my roof fixed.
    Thanks again MSE:T

    That's good news, well done!

It was pretty fast but depends on how quick the FOS return the acceptance form to RBS. I had a refund on my credit card within 10 days of me returning the acceptance form to the FOS. no choice of a refund directly to me.

    Good luck

    Just an update

Recieved a letter from HSBC yesterday regarding 4 loans (all top ups) Ive had with them previously

The 8 week deadline was on the 16th June, and the letter recieved yesterday said they are looking into the details and will take a further 4 weeks

When taking out the loans the first one back in 2003 was taken out in Devon and then the final one in 2006 was taken out in Manchester

Should i just leave it now until a further 4 weeks as passed and see what the outcome is then

Hi, as long as they let you know where you are that is fine.

Personally I would give them this extra time, as it seems they have a few of them to deal with.;)

Good luck with this, please keep us posted, cheers.:)

 I used your 1st draft letter to complain to my "Goldfish" credit card company about my excessive PPI charges!! My initial card application was done by post, in 1999, so PPI was never discussed, but has always been on the bill!! Health restrictions were never discussed either (BIG problem as i am diabetic!)
Using your letter as a template I explained all this to my card company.
9 weeks later, with very little effort on my part!! Goldfish have made me an offer!! An amount of interest has also been added to the offer, to cover my expenses, for payments I have made all the way back to 1999!!!
The offer is in excess of £2500!! and I have duly accepted
THANK YOU for your expert, simple advice and guidance.
