Wow that is very spooky.......:D, it must be lucky for you as well, Congratulations!

I believe there have been much success against HSBC, hopefully they will post up with their experience, good luck with this as well.;)

It is very spooky, you're right!

I've been reading HSBC threads and the signs do seem promising, I gave them the same reasons I believed I was mis-sold as I did with Egg. I will keep you posted :)

Hi, I'm going through a claim with HSBC and it has been over 2 months and they are still investigating but I have started hassling them now & they have advised they will have a response by the 8th June (over 3 months from first contact) so do keep the pressure on them as they obviously haven't got enough staff dealing with these & good luck !

    Hi.
    Successful PPI payment claim.
    Egg Loan PPI
    Paying for 6 years
Amount claimed: £4820.39 (which included interest)
Responded after 1st letter with full refund of charges plus interest.

Thank you for the helpful tips and pro-forma letters. I used the first letter to complain to Egg that I had been mis-sold PPI, as I had felt it was pushed as a requirement for the loan. Within a week I received a letter telling me they were investigating. Expecting to be turned down, I downloaded and prepared the second letter - but there was no need.
Yesterday I received a letter from Victoria Shepherd in the Egg Customer Relations department, telling me they had reviewed the complaint, and that they were refunding all premiums charged with interest - a total of £4820.39:T

Thank you again - and keep up the great work
    Russell

Feels brilliant doesn't it Rusell? Funnily enough Victoria Shepherd was the lady who gave me my money back too. Enjoy it your new found money and congratulations again.

I have just updated my signature.

All 4 complaints to Lloyds TSB going back to 2001 have all been upheld and I have claimed back over £13k of PPI and interest.

Have been able to more or less clear the decks of outstanding balances of cards and borrowing and have the magic 3 months salary in the bank for rainy days!

Have a couple of others to look at but all in all I am more than happy with the 4 I have got back. :T

Thanks for the info, that's handy to know. I was amazed just how quick Egg were to respond, looks like I'll have to be patient with HSBC. I hope you are successful too :)

    Hi

I have today after 9 weeks had a letter from lloyds regarding claim on PPI on Credit card going back a fair few years.

There letter almost seems like it could be generic as it states i my complaint was made on basis i didnt know PPI was optional, and i felt if i didnt have it card would not be accepted.

there findings just state they were members of the insurance council ( which is nice to know lol) and they state all the points the must comply with..

then in decision state they cant find any evidence to support claim and must reject it.

They state this is there final decision, unless i have additional evidence..

from peoples experience, is it worth going straight to FOS, or going back as they havnt addressed any points in my orginal letter?

additionally. are the FOS still in majority of cases upholidng complaints referred to them about PPI

    many thanks

    Hi there

Yeah this is generic of LLoyds usual response, don't let it go, and keep at them, it is also known for them to even change a final decision.

So if you want to, before going to the FOS, write again, just give them 7 days, tell them your aware the FSA are punishing banks for not investigating complaints properly and you don't believe yours was looked at properly - and overlooked with a standard -basic response.

Tell them you are giving them the opportunity to look into your complaint again, but this time you want it investigated thoroughly by 7 days, then go on to say that if you hear nothing by 7 days, you will go ahead to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), where is successful they will occur more charges for themselves, where you also intend to ask for further redress as well for the inconvenience of not having your complaint investigated properly by the complaints dept.

However, in my experience they do tend to uphold more on the loan ppi rather than the credit card ppi, but keep at them is best.

You can also email them here as well as sending a hardcopy in the post, and also copy it to the Chief Exective officer (CEO) as well.
