    Hi all,

Help needed please before I start my reclaiming with Black Horse Finance.

My husband and I took out a loan with them five yrs ago. The ppi only covered him and not me. And we were also told we had to take out PPI.

My husband and I have since separated. If we get our money back can I ask for the refund to be split between us. We both have our own bank accounts, but the loan has been paid by Direct debit through his account.

Just need to know where I stand before I get the ball rolling

    Thank you in advance

Hi, thanks to your website and the financial ombudsman i have been awarded just over £5000 in missold PPIcharges - only problem the loan has not run its term yet so Barclays now want to rearange the outstanding balance - which is fine, but they have informed me that the money owing to me will be put into the new loan account to pay it back early. I have never missed a payment and do not wish to pay the loan back early.
Can someone please tell me if Barclays have the legal right to do this? surley i have the right to do with my money as i wish!
if you were mis sold your loan is put back to the position it should have been without ppi, that is the same term and apr, they cannot redo the loan and take your refund off, the loan is not due to finish yet and you should just keep paying to the end of the original term, they are out of order, give fos a ring and see what they say, sorry for late reply,

Barclays Bank Personal Loan PPi reclaim
Called them on the phone in April 2010.
Claimed for mis selling due to not asking if I wanted it and the fact that they would not cancel it unless I took out another load at a much higher APR without PPi.
got a letter back today stating full refund £334.74 + £77.76 interest = £412.50 credited to my current account.

Didnt even have to write a letter. Took about 6 weeks in total.
    yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Hi.
    Successful PPI payment claim.
    Egg Loan PPI
    Paying for 6 years
Amount claimed: £4820.39 (which included interest)
Responded after 1st letter with full refund of charges plus interest.

Thank you for the helpful tips and pro-forma letters. I used the first letter to complain to Egg that I had been mis-sold PPI, as I had felt it was pushed as a requirement for the loan. Within a week I received a letter telling me they were investigating. Expecting to be turned down, I downloaded and prepared the second letter - but there was no need.
Yesterday I received a letter from Victoria Shepherd in the Egg Customer Relations department, telling me they had reviewed the complaint, and that they were refunding all premiums charged with interest - a total of £4820.39:T

Thank you again - and keep up the great work

Hi, noob poster here but long time lurker :)

I also received a letter from Victoria Shepherd at Egg today, with a refund of £1971.02, that's quite spooky considering I was born in February 1971

I also wanted to say thankyou to everyone here for all the information and advice - what seemed quite a daunting task when I first started researching claiming back PPI actually only took an afternoon of questionnaire filling. Egg received my complaint on Monday and I received the offer 4 days later. Most impressed!

I've also filed another claim with HSBC, not had any response from them yet. Anyone had any success with them? :)
