Paid the whole thing off two years later and didn't have any info. Sent off SAR info in March and then a letter requesting a refund (I estimated around £500). On Saturday morning I received a letter, not admitting liability but offering me a full and final payment of £1653.31! Have been in a VERY good mood all weekend!
Hi there
How much was your loan for? Im just trying to guage what I might get back.
ThanksBeen comping for a while....still no luck though0 -
The Original flexible loan limit was £3500, but calculated from the statements I received after sending a SAR that I had paid around £500 in ppi payments.0

Help Needed
I recently found a loan I had with the Halifax back in 2002 so I sent a letter off relating to being mis sold the PPI, the loan I did take out was a secured loan so it was called a PLRC as I received a letter declining this policy was mis sold.
I then sent another letter to the Halifax stating my reasons to why I felt I was treated un fairly and today recived another letter saying the decision stands and they find that this policy was sold in the right way to myself.
I have already received payment back from a un secured loan as they did say this was mis sold.
PLease any help as to what I do next do i now write another letter again stating my reasons or take this further or is thier desicion on it being a secured loan a valid reason
Thanks0 -

Hi there
I am so sorry to hear this.
So I take it this was the final decision where they enclosed the details leaflet via financial ombudsman service (FOS)?
Even If they have sent the final decision along with the above details, then write to them again, tell them you stand your ground as well, the FSA are investigating banks who are rejecting complaints - and for not investigated properly, where you believe your complaint was overlooked, as you did have a Previous complaint upheld for the same reasons.
You could still give it one more go if you want to, give them about 7 days to get back, if you hear nothing then do complain to the FOS.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks for your reply and yes I intend to send another letter stating the reasons as it was truly mis sold and they are using the fact that it was a secured loan and not a un secured loan which I totally disagree with saying they used a different procedure that was in place to assest my needs via thier documentation and their exact words were their product was not worthless very angry at this.0

Hi there
Good for you.
I don't think they have given a good enough reason to reject to be honest, so keep at them.
Do not worry about posting on both threads about this, others may also be able to help as well.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
after first being refused and Lloyds issuing a final response i persevered and politely asked Lloyds to re-consider and submitted further information.
they have upheld my complaint on 2 LPI policies going back a number of years,
in total i shopuld be receiving approx £3.5k
i would urge everyone to keep at your lenders if they reject your genuine reasons for a miss-sell
i would like ot thank all the people who have helped me and supported me along the way with these claims. i couldn't/wouldn't have done it without you.
thank youI'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -
I had a loan with the Halifax that I took out in Dec 2007 which had PPI added. This year I took the courage to not only cancel the PPI on the loan but also claim the PPI back, using the letter from this website. About 6 weeks later, Halifax rang, apologised for the delay and refunded my money plus interest plus 8% compensation.
I used the word courage as I had some sort of misplaced loyality to the bank -the staff have always been nice to me etc-and it took energy to get all the paperwork together but I'm glad I did.
With the refunded money, after going thru various permutations with the various debtors, I decided to spend half on debts and save half. I could have paid off all my Halifax credit card debt but thought 'They helped get me into this in the first place-why should I give them back the refunded money straight away'. Maybe I'm just being pig-headed (sorry pigs) but that's what I felt.
Thanks again.
