    Hi Dec,

Do you mind me asking if this was a CC? I had a CC with Egg and when I questioned the PPI they told me it was sold to me online and therefore all the facts were available to me.

    Thank,

    LL xx

It was a single premium on a loan. Did you get that response through a formal complaint? If so, I would send it to the FOS and let them decide.

    Good luck
  • Hi

Thanks to all on here (especially Di), my mum got notification yesterday that LPF agree that she has been missold and therefore will refund her the premiums plus interest of £1600!
Took from November, but only about 3 letters and the questionnaire. Had just referred this to the FOS too due to the timescales, they must have got their bums in gear!
lso waiting on another LPF reclaim for about £500 ish plus accident cover they put on there at £9 per month over 4 years.
The £1600 clears one card and leaves about £1000 left over so it all brings the debt free date closer.....:j

Agian, thanks to everyone, and to anyone else thinking of about reclaiming, just do it, so so worth it!

Just would like to post my success with Barclays bank for a personal loan with PPI claim.

Using the templates from mse i sent them to barclays bank claiming my PPI payments back from a loan that i took out 6 years ago.

Yesterday i received a phone call from barclays, confirming that they would uphold my complaint and today i received a cheque for £4661.87, this is the premuim of £3091.08 plus the interest that i paid on this of £774.86 and £1301.49 in interest on the payments at 8%.

I am currently persuing barclaycard and halifax as well for credit card PPI payments, i would recommend that anyone shud do this as i was surprised at how swift this settlement was agreed.

I started this on the 31 march and within 6 weeks i am happy with the cheque that i have received.:j:j

    Brilliant, well done and Congratulations!:T:beer::j
Good luck with the others as well.:)

    Hi There

Sometimes with egg when you applied on line the PPI was pre ticked and you had to opt out of this. Do not just accept what they say if you are not happy with their response go to the FOS.

    Hi All,

Thanks to the advice and templates, I have just recieved an offer from Clysdale (Yorkshire Bank) of £6321.92!!!!
They have been a bit tight with the interest - only 1.5% - But I'm going to take it anyway as it helps me out massively....It took two letters and tons of phone calls, with the first letter being sent in November 2009 but I got there in the end.

I do have another question that I was hoping you could help me with..There are two old loans that they looked at as well (I asked them in the first letter to look into all loans I had taken with them) but they say they can't determine if either had PPi applied to them as they don't have paperwork. Any ideas as to what I should do next??? They have supplied me the account numbers so should I SAR them or go straight to the FOS? I'm pretty sure there was PPI on them but I couldn't swear to it...

Any help would be greatly recieved..Thanks again everyone and keep up the great work..

    Multay...;0)

    Hiya!

well done for getting that! you must be very pleased! How long did it take and did you go via the FOS?. I took out PPI with Yorkshire on a loan and wrote to them in Oct. Got a letter stating that they felt that they were not at fault and that was their final response. Have taken it to the FOS and still waiting....just wonderd how long from start to finish it took for you and did you get any initial reply from the bank stating that they would not pay out/

    warmly and thanks...
  • A BIG WELL DONE

    Hi,
I would like to reclaim my husbands PPI on his Barclayloan, but we have just applied to remortgage with the Woolwich and I'm worried that this might go against us. Barclays offered me a preapproved barclayloan on our internet banking site at 7.9%, which was quite good, we decided to consolidate debt and take it, we did and the papers came through to sign and a statement to say that the loan would go through in my account in 2 days, I signed the form and didn't tick for PPI and returned it to them, it didn't go into my account and when I rang up they said that something had come up and I didn't qualify.
We had foolishly made committments for the money so when they offered my husband the same Barclayloan, we took it and ticked the box for PPI, it went straight into the account.
We have a joint account with Barclays - the loan is for £25,000 over 9 years and the PPI is £7,500 - does anyone think I will have a case to say I was missold.
    Thank you
    Titch :)

I began my complaint about PPI mis-sold by Northern Rock (NR) in June 2009, the basis for my complaint was that I was told when I took out my mortgage back in 2001 that I had to have it (which was difficult to prove), also on closer inspection, the policy proved to be not worth the paper it was written on!
I used Martin's templates, but got nowhere with NR, just "we're looking into it" letters. After 8 weeks from my initial letter had passed, I got in contact with the Financial Ombudsman Service and passed all the data I had gathered, and NR's responses so far. The FOS got back to me explaining the process and updated me regularly with their progress. Finally, in March 2010, success! The FOS wrote to say that NR had offered a settlement and that I should expect it to be along the lines of a full repayment of all premiums and 8% interest, but that it could take up to 8 weeks after I had accepted this offer for payment.

Today I received 2 cheques for a total of £2827!

Ok, so it's taken the best part of a year, but don't let this put you off your own complaint, as far as I was concerned, I had nothing to lose. The Financial Ombudsman people were very helpful, and in the end I've got my money back, plus some!
