Sent off my acceptance form following my HFC success on Monday - is anyone who has also won with HFC able to advise on how long they generally take to send the payment through?
Thanks, Coco
The last claim i had with HFC took approx 6 weeks to sort out but to be fair i made the mistake of not sending my acceptance letter registered post and they constantly denied receiving them so they were posted back to me at least twice in that time.
If they are re structuring a loan for you minus the PPI i.e cancelling 1 loan and setting up a new one then this can take longer than just a standard payout for a loan that has finished which takes max 21 days.
I would give them a couple of weeks and then call them if nothing received and chase them up.
Also can you tell me how long your claim took from making original complaint to receiving the offer. I am currently waiting for a reply from them on a further 5 loans and would be interested to know there approx timescales at the minute.0 -

Thanks for the reply. I will give them until next week and then call them to make sure they have received my acceptance form. Hopefully, as it is a straightforward pay out, rather than a loan restructuring, it shouldn't take too long.
I sent my original letter to them on the 20th March, so its taken just over 8 weeks from my letter to their offer.0 -
Hi all. Well, I wrote first template letter to Creation Finance and to MBNA for PPI recaim. Creation knocked it back straight away but said if you want to discuss, call I didnt call, I wrote second letter including some points of my own, particularly referring them to FLA code of conduct as they were trying to use this as an excuse (ie not FOS regulated at the time). Got letter back yesterday with 'goodwill' offer of all premiums plus interest. Result, £1,100...however, they have said they will credit it to account, which is a store card with only £500 o/s on it anyway. Cannot get through to them on phone to say offer is fine but want a cheque....surely they cannot put a store card into credit?
After two stalling letters from MBNA they have now rejected claim, usual points about having agreed to it at point of sale, 30 days to cancel and updated t&c's sent periodically over the years. However, they have clearly stated at the end of their letter that 'this is our final response on the matter.' and go to FOS if you want to continue complaint. My question is basically, do I in the first instance ignore the fact they have said that and send them the second template which would be very similar to that which got me the result from Creation? Mis sale being claimed predominantly due to self employment, and also not having benefits and exclusions (and under FLA rules cancellation rights) explained at point of sale. Or do I have to go now to FOS?
Any advice gratefully received.

Hi there
And yes lots of experience with them and in my own experience they do seem to take longer with the Credit Card PPI to that of Loan PPI.
Its up to you if you want to give them a bit longer, but they are stating that you are in your right to go the FOS direction now if you want to.
They are over-run with complaints, so maybe if you want to give your own timescale, say like another 2 weeks - if you hear nothing by then, then maybe move on to the FOS.
Good luck with this, please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Another Egg success to report... Having decided to try and reclaim the PPI on my own old Egg card and Egg loan account I had a quick review of some of the OH's old financial docs and realised that he paid for PPI of £1,100 when he took out an Egg loan in 2006. This loan was paid off last year and he hadn't even realised that he had had PPI - he was under the impression that the additional amount represented the interest on the loan.
We emailed Egg through their secure messaging facility on 10th May and received a letter later that week saying that they were looking at it. Yesterday (the 19th) he received a further letter saying that they would repay the £1,100 plus £253 interest. The letter was careful to avoid any suggestion that the PPI had been mis-sold.
An excellent result all round, so many thanks to all at MSE!0 -
Hi All,
Thanks to the advice and templates, I have just recieved an offer from Clysdale (Yorkshire Bank) of £6321.92!!!!
They have been a bit tight with the interest - only 1.5% - But I'm going to take it anyway as it helps me out massively....It took two letters and tons of phone calls, with the first letter being sent in November 2009 but I got there in the end.
I do have another question that I was hoping you could help me with..There are two old loans that they looked at as well (I asked them in the first letter to look into all loans I had taken with them) but they say they can't determine if either had PPi applied to them as they don't have paperwork. Any ideas as to what I should do next??? They have supplied me the account numbers so should I SAR them or go straight to the FOS? I'm pretty sure there was PPI on them but I couldn't swear to it...
Any help would be greatly recieved..Thanks again everyone and keep up the great work..
Multay...;0)0
