Hi there, hubbies HSBC claim was settled and paid within 11 weeks, there was a bit of a delay waiting for an appointment to restructure his loan. As soon as the loan was restructured money was in his account 3 days later.

HSBC were very good all through with communication.

    Good luck with your claim.

I sent my first letter on the 4th Jan, 4 weeks after (28th Jan) I had a letter acknowledging my claim, saying it could take 4 - 8 weeks to investigate. At 4 weeks (Feb 26th) I had a letter saying they needed a further 4 weeks. I phoned them on the 23rd March to say I wanted to know how my claim was progressing. The guy on the phone said I would get an answer this week but it would probably be sent to the FOS. Post came saturday with my offer of £4750 (more than expected).

If you have been waiting a while for your claim, it may be worth giving them a call, just to nudge them along a little. Good Luck.

Hi my DH has just recvd an offer from Welcome FInance of £660 - which is his total PPI plus interest paid plus 8% so a good offer. He first wrote to Welcome in oct and has filled out forms and written 2 letters (one of which went missing apparently) but all in all a good result. I am so grateful to others for posting their experiences on here as it certainly kept us going. :T
Me debt free thanks to MSE :T

    Hi!

Wondering if anyone can give me advice please!?

I had a successful claim for PPI from RBS/Direct Line back in Dec 2008 - received just short of £7,500! Was told that they would send me a restructured loan agreement...

Well, I waited and waited, phoned RBS to check was promised a letter ad never received one. Have been back in touch with FOS and they've pushed RBS to get it sorted, though now it's been 9 weeks since FOS got involved again... Tried to contact FOS and not had a reply to my emails... And still nothing from RBS/Direct Line.

Am now owed close to £6,500 as RBS/Direct Line are still taking £463 per month from my account... This is nearly what they reckon I still owe from the restructuring of the loan, but I have had no refund and no reduction in payments as promised...

    What do I do?!

    Hi there

I would ring them for the quickest method to be honest, they do I believe have backlogs of emails to get through.
If you cannot get in touch by phone with the one dealing with your case then ring the contacts on here below, there is I believe a freephone number as well now too.
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
Whoever you speak to should be able to check it out for you, just give the ref number, explain you have been waiting for a response by email and not heard anything up to now.

Also explain your situation, good luck with this and well done on your success.;)

Hi There bigmac man I would ring them and ask them to increase their offer. If you can sort it out at branch level it would be so much quicker than going through FOS who are extremely busy and could take up to two years.

    Good Luck

Usually though with an offer (like mine with Co-op was) FOS will move quite quickly as most banks cave in for the full amount if taken to FOS after giving the bank another go.
