    • What were you reclaiming: PPI Insurance
    • Who was the provider: HSBC
    • How much did you get back: £4750

    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
YAAAAAAYYYY!!!!!! - good news at last!
Just received my offer from HSBC offering me £4750 (£750 more than expected). Sent a letter off at the start of January, so three months to get an answer.
This is going to help fund our wedding at the end of this year. A great big thank you to all the advice from the MSE members, I wouldn't of done it without your support.

I've dealt with the same person at Lloyds for many years and every time I've taken out a loan/remortgaged, he's arranged it so that there's PPI on it. He's never asked whether I wanted it and never told me I had it. I couldn't have claimed even if I'd needed to, since I wasn't aware I had it. He's now on gardening leave.

Lloyds have upheld 5 PPIs on loans. Others are with the FOS because of the length of time Lloyds have spent dithering about.

One funny thing is though, that I added a sentence 'and any other PPIs on any other loans prior to July 2002' (when my internet banking records started). I had actually only claimed for one of these five missold policies - the others dated from 1999 to 2002 and Lloyds paid them back without my asking directly for them.

Now just waiting for the FOS to contact me.

I wrote my own letters because my case was so complicated, but have to say this site is amazing, and the letters provided by Martin are exactly what we need for reference.[well done, i'm with the lloyds, but had to go to the fos, like you, had ppi on two loans did not even know about, that i had ppi on them, going back to 1999 and 1996, only found out about them, by asking for ppi missold on a loan 2002, and 2005, but have been turned down by them, but been with the fos for the last 18 months, but the case has just friday been reviewed so waiting for the outcome now, really hoping to be put back into the position, i was in before the ppi added, because the loan is with collections, as been for the last four years, oh lost his job,but went back to work after 5 months, but the job was a lot less money and got behind with everything, so could not keep up all the payments on the loan, so waiting to here now, i hope it is good news, and they also give the other ppi for the loans i have had in the past like you did not know ppi was added, this lloyds bank has been very very unfair to us, because we went off one loan, after another, and paying 7, 8 thousand pounds each time for ppi, plus interest, is why today, i am in a mess with the loans, but people are awear now, about all this ppi business, i think, and do make sure the lloyds don't do to them what has been done so to thousands of people, like us, good to hear you were successful, hope i will too, i will post next week
