PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi di3004, thank you for your response, the loan was with the bank itself but it was well over 6 years ago that the loan was paid off, I have sent a letter similar to the SAR letter with dates, branch name, etc but they responded saying they cannot trace the account as it is over 6 yrs. I was only 18 when I took out the loan so didn't think to keep any paperwork on the loan or account.0

However, just written to LLoyds to get their act together stating why uphold an old loan and reject the latest one when I was citing the same reasons and if it was because different people had assessed the loans they had better get their training procedures sorted (do you think that was a bit harsh lol) as continuity in all things.
So that let a bit of frustration off.

Hi Michelle
Sorry to hear this, but now you can get stronger for this one.
Keep on at them, you can always take them to the FOS if they reject on the final response.
Whatever reasons they gave for rejecting your complaint, if they have given you the opportunity to write to them again, you need to give your reasons on their findings, by telling them you do not agree because ***** **** *** and so on and request they reconsider as you strongly believe you were mis sold and were out of pocket, also deprived of your own money, also mention it was NOT sold to you in your best interest.
Just keep at them, if they want to play ball then play ball.;)
Good for you on the LLoyds case as well, well done :T:TXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there
Just to double check again, do you have the account number though?
If so then I would still complain, they may just come back with an offer instead if they do not any longer hold any of your details for this loan.
Worth giving it a try if you have the account number that is.;)
But otherwise, have you kept any old bank statements where it would be shown on these, the account number is generally shown next to the montly loan repayment? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi di3004, I don't have the account number or any old statements
looks like i could be our of luck then

I know its taking a chance, but wonder if you applied for a credit report if they will still hold any details of you, (just by chance), these reports costs £2, and you can order these from various ones, for example:
Experian, Equifax.
Its just a suggestion really, google those sites in for search.
So I take it this was paid off more than 6 years ago as well? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
That's a fantastic idea, thank you ! Yes, it was only a short loan of 2 years.0

- What were you reclaiming: PPI loan insurance x 3
- Who was the provider: RBS
- How much did you get back: Total £6824
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: No letter required
Go for it...nothing to loose and it is YOUR money!
Thanks again Martin!:money:

Hi all,
i recently sent of a couple letters off to Egg on a £3000 loan i took out back in 2002. I had no paperwork, no details, nothing only a number which was printed on one of my old bank statements next to the monthly premium.
Just received a letter back today confirming a refund of £537.76 in PPI premiums and £203.94 interest.
Over £700 for 10 minutes work, Template letters came in a treat, thanks heaps moneysavingsexpert.com. If you havent alreay made the effert its definitaly worth a try.
