After reading on this board I thought I might have a reason to claim back my ppi from HFC, so on 26.02.10 I sent a letter expalining with my reasons and this morning they have sent me a letter offering 2,300 and because I still have 200.00 left on my loan they would pay that off and give me the difference. All it took was one letter and a lot of encouragement from people on this site, especially DI3004 who gave me the reassurance I needed to go ahead and do it.
Cant believe it Im shaking inside cos at the mom it feels as if nothing is going right.
Just to hear from LLoyds/TSB sent them the same reasons so I may be lucky there.
Well done Michelle45 let yourself enjoy it:j:j:j0 -

Hi All
Remember me from about page 406...lol, not good at quoting, so here is my story (condensed version)
Had 3 loans from Welcome Finance, 2002, 2004
Made an SAR, they sent me everything, February this year
Sent Martins template letter
Response from WF: Our records show you werent sold PPI!!!
Telephoned them, they agreed they had made a mistake and would look into it
Received Final Response this morning, they rejected the claim on time line
These loans didnt end until 2008, and they quoted that they could dispose of paper work after the statutory 6 years, my loan didnt end until 2008, and they clearly havent disposed of anything as they sent me copies of everything!
I have just put together a complaint pack for FOS, enlosing copies of all correspondance to and from WF, along with all agreements
What are my chances?
Oh and i was also sold familycare and healthcare which i am also disputing
Has anyone noticed that when you telephone WF, they ask you to input a 7 digit account number before you can speak to anyone, my account numbers were 6 digit, and i had to really perservere to speak to anyone
thanks
anne
Hi annie
I believe they should at least hold most of your data going back the last 6 years, so due to this ring the information commissioners officer for advice on this one.
https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
Did you request for a SAR (Subject access request) with an enclosed payment of £10 postal order or cheque payment?
If so they MUST comply.
More on SAR here with details/template letter:

Please keep us posted and do get in touch with the ICO, good luck. X;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Michelle, if they have any sense then yes they should, however just a little of my own experience with LLOYDS they do take some time when they want to and if they try fobbing you off or offering you a low offer, keep at them.
Saying that they may be okay and straight forward with yours, good luck.;):)X

Hi Everyone,
I put a question across about a month ago regarding my mis sold PPI.
I was first contacted by Myclaimsexpert stating i was due just under £7500 and this amount relates to premiums for insurence and also it includes interest which they have charged me on the premiums at a contractual rate. After contacting the Halifax they responed by saying as i was a valued customer they would pay me an amount which would put me back in a postion that i would have been if i had not taken out the insurence. So a week after i received the letter i got a cheque for £2007.73
Here is there redress calculations
Refund of premiums to date= £924.66
Interes charged on premiums= £671.06
Compensatory interest at 8%= £412.01
total compensation = £2007.73
After i received this cheque i contacted them again and asked why they came to that amount as on person is telling me i'm due just under £7500 and one is stating i'm due just over £2000. They preson on the phone said he would send me out a copy of the redress of the calculations which he did it showed the amounts i have paid dated right back to 2002 but as i dont have the origanal statements i'm not 100% sure that they are the correct amounts.
Has this happened to anyone else and what should i do next?? I know i send away for all my statements. I just think it stranged as there is over £5000 of a difference.
Thanks Barry0 -

I think they might have got it wrong. The breakdown they sent me has all the payments i paid from 2002.
I've already been in contact with the FOS. Should i just send all the info to them??
Thanks0
