 This is excellent news, my current claim is identical to yours. So with a bit of luck I hope to hear back this month about mine.
Well done!Started with a small loan with HSBC 6 years ago and gradually kept adding to it, not knowing anything about PPI, finally paid off the balance of £14,000 last year!
Sent the letter to HSBC beginning of January, a few kind, gentle reminder phonecalls later and I received a settlement figure last Friday - refunded in full £7,558.17!!!!
Very happy bunny!!!

This is excellent news! sounds identical to my own current claim with HSBC. I should find out this month if I am getting anything back.
Thank you and well done!0 -
- What were you reclaiming: Loan
- Who was the provider: Capital One
- How much did you get back: £3018.60
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: after only the first letter to capital one
I printed my letter off this website on the 8th January 2010. I had finished paying my loan in October 2009. When I took out the loan the salesman on the phone really pushed the benefits of me taking this PPI... I needed the loan money and he strongly hinted that it would be seen as a positive point on my application that I took it.
When I started this process to reclaim, I honestly thought that I would be fighting this for the long term and that there was a high possibility that I would eventually fail.
Letter arrived this morning where they completely denied having mis-sold the PPI, BUT would I accept £3018.60 (including the interest I asked for) to bring this matter to 'a swift conclusion'
... why thankyou Capital One!! I certainly would! :T:T:T£2 coin challenge = 50/250 (20% there)
Olympic challenge = 0.7% paid off0 -
Hello everyone
Further to my post of 29/08/07(!!!)
I have just received payment to the total of £5028.54 from Egg after they missold me PPI on my everlasting Egg loan. I had to wait 2 years 7 months for the Ombudsman to finally get them to pay up, but they did!
I never gave up hope and I called the Ombudsman every few monnths to check how it was going. I cannot tell you how important this money is for me right now, I havent had a proper wage in ages....to Martin and all the team, thank you so much, and I will continue with more reclaims now!

Hi All
Remember me from about page 406...lol, not good at quoting, so here is my story (condensed version)
Had 3 loans from Welcome Finance, 2002, 2004
Made an SAR, they sent me everything, February this year
Sent Martins template letter
Response from WF: Our records show you werent sold PPI!!!
Telephoned them, they agreed they had made a mistake and would look into it
Received Final Response this morning, they rejected the claim on time line
These loans didnt end until 2008, and they quoted that they could dispose of paper work after the statutory 6 years, my loan didnt end until 2008, and they clearly havent disposed of anything as they sent me copies of everything!
I have just put together a complaint pack for FOS, enlosing copies of all correspondance to and from WF, along with all agreements
What are my chances?
Oh and i was also sold familycare and healthcare which i am also disputing
Has anyone noticed that when you telephone WF, they ask you to input a 7 digit account number before you can speak to anyone, my account numbers were 6 digit, and i had to really perservere to speak to anyone
thanks

What were you reclaiming: 3 Loans
Who was the provider: Lloyds TSB
How much did you get back: £12001.00
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:FOS
Hi there all,
Received a letter this morning from LTSB confirming that the amount of £12001 will be payed into my bank account within 21 days for the previous amounts of PPI that I had paid on the above loans. I still cannot believe it!!! Big celebration this weekend I think.
I would activly encourage all who read these threads who have paid PPI in the past or who are still paying to make a claim against the lenders. This money will seriously change my life.
Thank you to everyone in this forum who has helped me with this claim, epsecially Di3004 and Marshallka, without who's help and advice I would have been lost in the whole claim process. People like these are seriously special. The amount of personal time and patience they donate to the claim cause and MSE in general must be highly comended.
Many thanks again

Hi
After reading on this board I thought I might have a reason to claim back my ppi from HFC, so on 26.02.10 I sent a letter expalining with my reasons and this morning they have sent me a letter offering 2,300 and because I still have 200.00 left on my loan they would pay that off and give me the difference. All it took was one letter and a lot of encouragement from people on this site, especially DI3004 who gave me the reassurance I needed to go ahead and do it.
Cant believe it Im shaking inside cos at the mom it feels as if nothing is going right.
Just to hear from LLoyds/TSB sent them the same reasons so I may be lucky there.0
