PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

:DHi all,
could I please just thank everybody in his forum for the help they have given me during PPI reclaims process that was upheld by the FOS. I have had confirmation this weekend from LTSB of the amounts of PPI that I have paid on the 3 loans that the FOS upheld and said that LTSB had to calculate the refund according to the standard FOS criteria. I wonder if the mathamatical geniuses in this forum could work out a reasonably close figure to what I might receive from LTSB so that I can agree or disagree with their amount. Forgot to mention I have not received the offer yet but I like to be prepared.
OK here goes.
1st loan
£1000 over 12 months taken out in 2003, 12 payments made. cost of PPI £132.15 apr 8.9%.
2nd loan
£15000 over 60 months taken out in 2004, 32 payments made. cost of PPI £3348.39 apr 11%.
3rd loan that consolidated 2nd loan,taken out in 2007.
£25000 over 84months, 28 payments made, cost of PPI £6834.25 apr 12.9%.
All these above loans have now been settled and paid in full.
Any reasonably accurate calcs welcome, as annual percentages are not my thing.
Many many thanks again in anticipation of your help

Hi all
Following on from my posts of last week, i have now received all my information, loan agreements, statements of accounts from Welcome Finance
I have to say, i originally only asked for account numbers and enclosed £2, they have sent all my information and within 2 weeks.
Has anyone ever had 'family care' or 'health care' added on to their personal loans, and if so what is it, i didnt ask for it or need it
On the car finance they have added on:
PPI
Hi anniegirl, I'm currently trying to claim back mis-sold PPI & 'Medicare 24' from Welcome Finance. I sent the first letter off on 26th November & quickly received a questionairre from them asking about my complaint. Since then I've had 2 or 3 letters telling me 'your claim is being dealt with, thanks for being patient.' I foned them up on the 8 week deadline to see how my claim was coming along & was told they were still dealing with complaints made in October. So I have now sent them a letter threatening the Ombudsman if no reply within 2 weeks.
Just be prepared for a long fight with them, looks like their dragging their heels for most people.x0 -
Success!
Recieved a letter from Bank of Scotland yesterday saying they're upholding my claim and will be in touch soon with exact figures.
How long do they usually take for this, anyone know?
Thanks to anyone who helped on here.0 -

Just to let everyone know.... Last week we filled in a template letter and sent it to EGG re a loan we have been paying over 7 years. While withdrawing cash from an ATM last night our balance had mysteriously increased by £2500. After much scratching of heads we awoke this morning to a letter from EGG saying they had paid the money direct to our bank! No quibbles, haggling or denials! 8 days it took and the payment included £779 interest. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Well done Martin not long now till your knighthood hopefully
Cheers

I have just received £2500 back from HSBC. This was for insurance on a grad loan I took out ages ago.
I filled out the template letter well before Christmas and they took quite a while to look into it. However they gave me back the full sum plus interest and I didn't have to write another letter!
I wasn't going to bother doing this as I really didn't think I had a case but my old uni friend was also successful with her claim against HSBC so i then decided to copy her.0 -

Well done and Congratulations :beer::T:beer:
I would give them say 14-28 days maximum, as they I believe have backlogs like most banks to deal with, hopefully it will be sooner than that though, but if not chase them up with a phone call.
Well done though.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
