Now have two PPI claims upheld by Lloyds TSB :beer:both refunds
+ one disputed claim:mad: I do have queries, all my loans from Lloyds TSB were consolidated loans, is there a difference between calculating the PPI rebates on consolidated loans and seperate loans and if so I know that somewhere on this site I read some information about consolidated loans, spent hours trying to find it (not wasted time as you find all sorts of great pieces of advice). both claims that were upheld state that refunds will be calculated exactly the same as if the FOS had calulated them, there is no information of total ammount to be refunded after doing the calculations ( does show the formula they will use, exactly the same as is posted in this site) ) I would like to know the ammount of money being refunded and a full breakdown of the way the refunds are calculated, do I request this before I send acceptance letters or am I worrying to much and send the acceptance letters ASAP. Any help with these points will be truly appreciated, thank you one and all for the help and endless patience shown to all.
Big thanks and:kisses: to all you from me and the wife.
Sorry to post this again but can anyone help with the queries I put in orginal post, really worried that there may be something further I should request or do before I send accepptance letters for first two claims, have now found another loan from 2002 but will wait for my SAR to arrive and see what other loan PPI I can try to get back.
Would really appreciate any help/advice.
Our thanks to all for getting me this far. paying_to_much0 -

Hi there, just to double check, did they send you the 2 acceptance forms or just the one to accept the offer on both?
I take it they have not actually sent you a figure to go by then?
I would also check on the thread that our MAXDP posted on how the FOS calculates PPI refunds, this should give you an idea, here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1596473
I would though otherwise ask them, maybe a quick call at this number here:
0845 300 5599, this is the insurance office in Newport, South Wales, tell them you want to see a full written breakdown in detail.
But in regards of the acceptance forms, it would be good if they could give you the figures so you can decide.
You are entitled to have these on request, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi,
I just wanted to post about my successful PPI reclaim on my Halifax credit card. I used the templates provided by this site and didn't really expect to be successful. I thought I was eligible because when I was 18 and applied for my first credit card I was advised at the time to take out the insurance as it would help with my application, so I did. As with many people I was never asked about any medical conditions or anything.
I put all of this in my letter to the Halifax. I was very impressed with their response, they kept me informed throughout the process and I received the letter yesterday to advise the amount I would be receiving. They have agreed to refund ALL of the premiums I ever paid, interest and compensation. Totalling over £1700.
Thanks for the help Martin :A. This money is without doubt better off in my pocket than in the bank.
Good luck everyone.0 -

Hi Di thanks for your reply’
Received acceptance letter for each upheld claim, letters of decision to uphold complaint contains this sort of info,
on 09/12/2004 you purchased loan of £10.000 + £2538.14 to purchase PPI,
Loan settled 02/01/09 PPI rebate £349.68
Then goes on to explain the calculations they will use to calculate rebate are exactly the same as would be used by the FSO. Must say it is the same as the one I have seen on this site but no sort of ball park rebate figure is given.
Loans, started mid 90s used to refurb house and each time I ran out of money loan was re-structured by getting larger loan which paid off previous loan and purchased new PPI loan then got rebate of previous PPI loan.
My other query was, are restructured/consolidated loan rebates calculated differently to single loans and if I accept these two upheld claims which are in the middle of a row of loans is there something I should be telling LTSB to make sure I get correct amount of rebate and not be mucking up my future claims (waiting for SAR), positive I spotted some info about this on site just can not find it. Would really appreciate if anyone can advise.
Will request what rebate figure will be for each upheld claim.
Grateful thanks to you and all the wonderful band of advisors on this site do not feel so alone and financially stupid anymore
Best wishes to you all Me and the Wife0 -

Hi and your welcome.;)
Normally when you take out another loan with the same bank to have another, so much is reduced into a rebate, so the settlement works out less, they are as it looks to me, going to refund the remainder of the PPI, but please do no quote on me, because over the years things possibly change, so hopefully someone will be along soon to take a little looksie for you soon.
It may be worth you posting this on the above PPI reclaiming thread above, where many post on there, Tiggrae as well, so she may have more of an idea on this, also Marshallka, me with explaining will only leave you more confused.......:o.
However, if the bank send you in the post the way they worked it all out on each loan, it would be so much easier would'nt it? They should do this but sometimes we have to keep chasing them up as well.
Hope someone comes along soon to go through this for you both, fingers crossed.;)

On the car finance they have added on:
PPI0 -

Hi anniegirl, glad you received all and more of the documents.
I expect some have had the stated cover and will post up with some advice/info for you.
If they added this without your knowledge, then I sure you can try to reclaim on this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi annie as stated in my above post, I'm sure you can give it a go to reclaim with the reasons you have, although you do not have to write down the amounts in the reclaim letter, but it does help that you have them, and they should as well if successful send you a written breakdown of the calculations (on how they worked them out).
For reclaiming, check Martin's link below, the checklist of mis selling reasons, template letters, if any of the reasons apply to you then write them in as well, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
Post by recorded delivery - for your proof of posting.

Hopefully though someone else will have some info here for you as well and will post up, good luck, please keep us posted.;)
