What were you reclaiming: Credit Card
Who was the provider: Egg
How much did you get back: £2439.68
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Went to the Ombudsman
Its Finally over!! After 10 months of waiting I have just received £2439.68 credited to my credit card account.
Egg firstly refused to acknowledge an error so off to the ombudsman I went and as they say the rest is history!!
Add this to the refund from Barclaycard (which was alot easier) and thats a total of £6500 back in under a year!
Good luck to all of you who are waiting and remember - DONT GIVE UP!!
Brilliant, well done and Congratulations.:T:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I have a loan with Alliance and Leicester, sent out one letter and recieved a response offering me a full refund plus interest at 8%
In total I recieved £3000 back!!!!
My next stop is my credit cards as they too should have stopped charging me for PPI when i went onto a DMP!!! I'm on a mission to bring down the debt!0 -

hiya di just wondering after our victory with our picture ppi success i am now going to reclaim charges from my credit cards going back five years .i have paid these off a while ago i have requested statements from one company in particular and i asked her how much they charged for copies of my statements ,she said there was at least 25 i would need and they said it would cost me at least £100 for them after i replied i thought the maximum you could charge would be £10,she told me to put this in my letter ,just wondering if you could put me straight on this please cos you seem to know your stuff much appreciated:D
If you ask for a statement from them showing charges on the account then it should only cost you £10 but if you ask for the actual statements then yes it could well cost over £100. hope this helps...am sure Di will give you more advise! Good luck!:A0 -

Hi there
Well done :beer::T:beer:
Now if there are charges and also PPI mis selling, keep this separately, PPI reclaiming as you know on this thread here.
Useful guidelines of reclaiming here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
For charges on the PPI, I would post on the Credit Card charges thread here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=102
It all adds up.
If you required a Subject Access Request (SAR) for all your info the template with details here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
Hope this helps, remember for a SAR you have to enclose £10 postal order of cheque payment and they have 40 days to comply.
The £10 covers for everything they hold on you.
Good luck to you and please let us know how you get on, cheers.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
January 2009 I was reading the web page and came across the PPI reclaiming advice. As I had recently paid off a loan and had not received any rebate on the insurance, I thought it was worth a go.
I downloaed the letters and sent them off the the loan company.
The loan was through Welcome Finance via First Plus. I sent a letter to both companies. First Plus responded that it was not their reponsibility but had forwarded the letter on to Welcome finance.
Nothing was heard from Welcome Finance. Further letters were sent and still nothing.
Then wrote to the ombusman who found in my favour.
It has taken nearly 6 months from the finding to the matter being sorted however I have this morning received a cheque for close to £16,000 (Yes sixteen thousand pounds):T:rotfl::beer::j:A:rotfl::T
Thanks to Martins advice none of the settlement has been paid to a third party and this year looks far more rosey.
Thanks Martin and your team, my life has just become a lot easier and less stressful. You cannot imagine the difference you have made.
To anyone reading this, send the letters and don't take no for an answer!!!!
Now, can we just have a template letter requesting expenses from the House of commons so I can afford a second home?0 -
