I just realised I somehow managed to cut off half my post! I can pay off my overdraft and shut the account down, the rest can help me out with all the expenses I have now since I had to move back to the North East after a relationship break up but all my customers in the Midlands! I wanted to thank everyone on here who gave encouragement and advice. Especially Di! If you think you have been miss-sold then have a go, do not pay people to do this for you either! I've just persuaded a friend to not use a company that wanted 38% of the win!!!
38% that is extracting the urine!!! well done on your win x

Thanks for getting back, Yes I know you are right!!
I have acorrection to make, my husband did give them permission he didn't realize that there was a lack of funds in the account, it was the fact that they wanted their money up front and the fact that they already knew his card details!!
I would love to be able to get money back, it would be a great start to this year as we had a terrible year last year fianancially.
    Thanks

QUOTE=amersall;29498629]please, please think about this, you can claim it back your self and with all this help on here for free!!! these companys can only do what you can, they will not get it faster, please have a go your self, as for this company trying to take money from you without your permission is outragous. there have been people on this site who have got a win with a company and then the company want 25% of the win plus vat. if you have a go yourself and you win you will keep all of the winnings.
    [/QUOTE]
when i put my claims in last year, this site was amazing, you will get all the help you need on here and all for the price of a few stamps, the company your husband phoned will also want a percentage of what you win!! if you want to use the template letter on here you can, i wrote a letter to the companys myself in my own words. it can be daunting but if you follow the advice on this site you may be very pleased you did. if you need help just shout!!
  • Hi All

I am an avid fan of this site and have had some success reclaiming PPI from MBNA. I have 2 claims with the FOS at the mo - both I believe near going to an adjudicator (have been with FOS since July 09). I wish the end was near, I am getting quite dispondant about the whole process - wish it was over! One is with Lloyds for credit card PPI (my husband was self employed at time and now understand that we may not have been covered completely, etc) and one is with Halifax (loan PPI - I tried explaining repeatedly that I did not need it as covered through work if ill, etc).

Does anyone know or think when I will have a conclusion?

    Thanks to all

    Naomi :)

Seriously frustrated with both b card and mbna. B card have not acknowledged my charges claim (twice) and mbna wont give me schedule of ppi or refund fully. Has anyone else had these problems and how did you proceed please?

    Thanks putty
  • Hi
Firstly this is a brilliant site! I have been reading through for a while and I am thinking of taking the plunge and trying to claim some of the PPI, I have paid over the years. Only this afternoon my husband received a phone call from a company claiming that they could get money back on a ppi paid on a mortgage some years ago, the only thing that I am really worried about is that they wanted a £75 fee paid today and they will put the paper work in the post for him to sign. My husband wouldn't give them the card number, but they were able to tell him the most of it themselves right down to the security number on the strip on the back. I find this a bit unsettling as I was a victim of card fraud before Christmas!.
However they phoned back and my husband was away, I asked them what the problem was, seemingly they had tried to get money from our account today and they were unable to get any, (due to lack of funds!) I informed them that I would not be paying out until I had some sort of paperwork.
Has anybody else had this experience?

    Hi Londonlass26 :)
I was bit concerned that the cmpany knew your card number including the security strip at the back...especially if you were a victim of card fraud before xmas...Maybe you should contact your bank regarding this and think about a change of card account details. Good luck making your claims I'm sure you could both do it ourselves with the help of this site, I've just started my own claims and ppl are really friendly and helpful here and will answer any questions no matter how silly you think they sound! All the best

    Hi

I looked into reclaiming unfair ppi at the end 2008, after my son telliing me that the bank had said he had to have PPI on his loan seeing as this loan was his first large loan he had applied for (was for a car).

I was furious as they are charging him over 50.00pm on a 6000 loan

I downloaded the letter from this site and sent it off in Jan 09, they responded and said they would look into it and they would contact us by such and such a date, which they did, but said exactly the same again giving us another date, which they then respnded to, this went on till around april, then we hear nothing from them at all, we contacted them and was told that they are at least 3 months behind and we should hear something in Oct, we never, so in November we sent them another letter with copies of letters they had sent us.

They have totally ignored that letter as well

Can anyone suggest what we should do

    thankyou

    Hi there

    Sorry to hear this.
They have had more than ample time.
Maybe its time to move on to the FOS now then if you want to do this, a free organisation who will investigate this for you/your son, however, there may be some wait, but it could be all worthwhile.

You can download and print the form from the FOS site or ring to arrange the post one direct, enclose any copies of evidence you may have, and because your son have not received any final decision, make them aware how much time have passed but enclose the copies of the letters they had sent.

However, just a suggestion, ring the FOS and tell them what have happened here and ask them if they would be able to write to them on your behalf, because of the reasons you posted, they should do this for you if you request for this, good luck.:)
