  • One letter to Lloyds TSB and £250 PPI returned no problem and an apology.
One letter to Citicards to reclaim PPI - result a refusal, credit limit reduced by £10,000, rate of interest increased to a whopping 21.9 per cent.
Actively pursuing through FOS but advised I cannot claim since before 6 years limit. Now claiming via underwriters for Citifinance.

  • Just realised I hadnt finally updated everyone on my claim with Sainsburys bank
What were you reclaiming: Sainsbury Loan PPI
Who was the provider: Sainsbury AKA Bank of Scotlane
How much did you get back: Full refund of the insurance and interest and the compensatory and 8% interests, which was £2501.00
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent 1 template letter to Sainsbury, got a replying asking me to call, spoke to very helpful man. Few weeks later got a letter saying that as a valued customer they would put me back in the position i would be had I not had the insurance. They didnt admit liability, but never mind - cheque arrived promptly 5 days later!

Thanks for everyones advice and support. This is the third winning claim in our family, got mum £600 on her credit card, dad £2000. Now after his A&L one, who appear to have refused all contact attempts.

Infact if anyone has current contact details for A&L credit card, that would be hugely helpful. Also it seem sthey have been taken over by MBNA - so should I contact them or A&L?

Thanks again to all and good luck to everyone

  • Hi
Firstly this is a brilliant site! I have been reading through for a while and I am thinking of taking the plunge and trying to claim some of the PPI, I have paid over the years. Only this afternoon my husband received a phone call from a company claiming that they could get money back on a ppi paid on a mortgage some years ago, the only thing that I am really worried about is that they wanted a £75 fee paid today and they will put the paper work in the post for him to sign. My husband wouldn't give them the card number, but they were able to tell him the most of it themselves right down to the security number on the strip on the back. I find this a bit unsettling as I was a victim of card fraud before Christmas!.
However they phoned back and my husband was away, I asked them what the problem was, seemingly they had tried to get money from our account today and they were unable to get any, (due to lack of funds!) I informed them that I would not be paying out until I had some sort of paperwork.
Has anybody else had this experience?

please, please think about this, you can claim it back your self and with all this help on here for free!!! these companys can only do what you can, they will not get it faster, please have a go your self, as for this company trying to take money from you without your permission is outragous. there have been people on this site who have got a win with a company and then the company want 25% of the win plus vat. if you have a go yourself and you win you will keep all of the winnings.

I just realised I somehow managed to cut off half my post! I can pay off my overdraft and shut the account down, the rest can help me out with all the expenses I have now since I had to move back to the North East after a relationship break up but all my customers in the Midlands! I wanted to thank everyone on here who gave encouragement and advice. Especially Di! If you think you have been miss-sold then have a go, do not pay people to do this for you either! I've just persuaded a friend to not use a company that wanted 38% of the win!!!
Wage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you
  • Thanks for getting back, Yes I know you are right!!
I have acorrection to make, my husband did give them permission he didn't realize that there was a lack of funds in the account, it was the fact that they wanted their money up front and the fact that they already knew his card details!!
I would love to be able to get money back, it would be a great start to this year as we had a terrible year last year fianancially.
    Thanks
