PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi
I looked into reclaiming unfair ppi at the end 2008, after my son telliing me that the bank had said he had to have PPI on his loan seeing as this loan was his first large loan he had applied for (was for a car).
I was furious as they are charging him over 50.00pm on a 6000 loan
I downloaded the letter from this site and sent it off in Jan 09, they responded and said they would look into it and they would contact us by such and such a date, which they did, but said exactly the same again giving us another date, which they then respnded to, this went on till around april, then we hear nothing from them at all, we contacted them and was told that they are at least 3 months behind and we should hear something in Oct, we never, so in November we sent them another letter with copies of letters they had sent us.
They have totally ignored that letter as well
Can anyone suggest what we should do
thankyou

Seriously frustrated with both b card and mbna. B card have not acknowledged my charges claim (twice) and mbna wont give me schedule of ppi or refund fully. Has anyone else had these problems and how did you proceed please?
Thanks putty
Hi
could you possibly give me an idea of the timescales on your MBNA claim? I'm in the initial stages and they are really dragging their feet!! grrr
thanks!:o0 -
please, please think about this, you can claim it back your self and with all this help on here for free!!! these companys can only do what you can, they will not get it faster, please have a go your self, as for this company trying to take money from you without your permission is outragous. there have been people on this site who have got a win with a company and then the company want 25% of the win plus vat. if you have a go yourself and you win you will keep all of the winnings.
Apart from making the claims yourself,as you don't need anyone else to do this for you, I would be more concerned with them having all your card details. You need to contact your bank straight away and advise them what is happening!!!!

Firstly this is a brilliant site! I have been reading through for a while and I am thinking of taking the plunge and trying to claim some of the PPI, I have paid over the years. Only this afternoon my husband received a phone call from a company claiming that they could get money back on a ppi paid on a mortgage some years ago, the only thing that I am really worried about is that they wanted a £75 fee paid today and they will put the paper work in the post for him to sign. My husband wouldn't give them the card number, but they were able to tell him the most of it themselves right down to the security number on the strip on the back. I find this a bit unsettling as I was a victim of card fraud before Christmas!.
However they phoned back and my husband was away, I asked them what the problem was, seemingly they had tried to get money from our account today and they were unable to get any, (due to lack of funds!) I informed them that I would not be paying out until I had some sort of paperwork.
Has anybody else had this experience?

Just a quick update, I finally received my two cheques for a total of £3,195.26 yesterday...Yippee!
So from posting my 1st letter to Black Horse which I sent on 5th November 2009 to 2nd February 2010 when I received my cheques its taken 3 months...not bad!
Hi Sassy1
Thats brilliant news! I went through the FOS for my ppi claim against Black Horse, it took almost 7 months to be assigned to an adjudicator! My complaint was upheld in December and my settlement form sent to BH by the FOS on the 4th Jan..havent heard anything from BH its been 4 1/2 weeks. Rang them and they advised they were still dealing with complaints received end of Nov!!! looks like ill be waiting the full 12 weeks.
Well done you!0 -
Hi all, :money:
Now have two PPI claims upheld by Lloyds TSB :beer:both refunds
+ one disputed claim:mad: I do have queries, all my loans from Lloyds TSB were consolidated loans, is there a difference between calculating the PPI rebates on consolidated loans and seperate loans and if so I know that somewhere on this site I read some information about consolidated loans, spent hours trying to find it (not wasted time as you find all sorts of great pieces of advice). both claims that were upheld state that refunds will be calculated exactly the same as if the FOS had calulated them, there is no information of total ammount to be refunded after doing the calculations ( does show the formula they will use, exactly the same as is posted in this site) ) I would like to know the ammount of money being refunded and a full breakdown of the way the refunds are calculated, do I request this before I send acceptance letters or am I worrying to much and send the acceptance letters ASAP. Any help with these points will be truly appreciated, thank you one and all for the help and endless patience shown to all.
Big thanks and:kisses: to all you from me and the wife.0 -
hi busbyh and twinkledust, londonlass corrected her post as below, her husband did give permission.for the card to be used, thats why i wasnt duly worried, but if she doesnt want to use this company i would tell bank the card has been lost and it will be cancelled , then the company cannot take any money out.
I have acorrection to make, my husband did give them permission he didn't realize that there was a lack of funds in the account, it was the fact that they wanted their money up front and the fact that they already knew his card details!!
I would love to be able to get money back, it would be a great start to this year as we had a terrible year last year fianancially.0 -
