Asked for photocopy of my statements and my signed agreement to use PPI, as usual fobbed off with letter from both. Then wrote to Ombudsman and got fairly immediate reponse, a short call from them asking a few questions about Co-Op Card. Co-Op responded quite quickly with a letter offering refund + 8%. Barclaycard finally sent an offer in a similar vain, after i kept pestering ombudsman via email finally got payment this week, many weeks overdue. Anyhow bottom line Co-Op paid £3300 and Barclaycard Paid £5400.
First time i've ever followed a guide on MSE, thanks Martin and all forum members0 -

Thankyou Martin, another vote for PM here!
Managed to claim back for a friend £2200 from HSBC for mis-sold PPI insurance on a loan took out 4 years ago (and still current). Basis of the complaint was that the friend did not understand what PPI insurance was and didn't understand the implications because he was a foreign national who was actually taking English lessons at the time. A slightly different slant on the some of the info in the template, but one that worked!
Timeline: Letter sent received a reply saying they were dealing with the issue a week later. Then a second letter from them after 4 weeks saying that they were still investigating. After the 7th week, a letter offering full refund of the PPI paid so (+ 8% interest on the amount), and a restructuring of the loan to remove the outstanding PPI bundled into it.
One very happy friend and I was taken out for dinner last night as a thank you, so even I got a little something out of it!0 -

Happy new year to all
