Hi EllBee, I'm trying to claim against BoS from when I had an agreement with Renault Financial services - who did you contact please as I'm getting nowhere fast!

    Hi Makela,

The address I initially wrote to regarding the PPI was:
    AA Personal Finance
    Customer Relations
    Bridgehouse
    Queens Park Drive
    Chester
    CH7 6AQ

However, Bank of Scotland have written back to me from the following address which I think might be the best one:
    Bank of Scotland
    Customer Relations
    PO Box 29112
    Dunfermline
    KY11 2ZX
    Telephone: 01244 692 724

I have to say BoS have been very good regarding reclaims as I had a refund on a NatWest loan I had some time ago. It probably took about 2 months, possibly a bit longer, but there was no hassle and they paid out. Don't be disheartened and go for it!

    Good luck.

I recently stumbled across a loan agreement with AA Financial Services, from July 1995 (yes, 14 years ago!), and noted that I had been charged nearly £2500 for loan PPI.

I wrote to BoS requesting the money back + interest and a couple of weeks ago I received a letter asking me to contact them, which I ignored. Today, Christmas Eve, I received another letter offering to put me "in the position you would have been in had you not taken the insurance". I should have the money within a month. It was that easy!

Whilst I have not actually received the money yet I thought I'd share this tale of seasonal joy :j and say a big thanks to Martin, MSE and all the members, who motivated me to act with their success stories.

Congratulations!! I've recently heard from BOS agreeing that I was missold on 3 PPIs and they're going to put me 'in the position you would have been in had you not taken the insurance'. One of my loans goes back to about 2000, possibly before!! There was no hassle and BOS have been brilliant! Not sure yet how much I'll get back but I'm hopeful my nearly paid up loan and a credit card will be paid off with a bit left over!!

Congratulations again and, like you, I thank everyone on here and the brilliant, wonderful Martin Lewis, who surely deserves to be on the New Year's honours list!!!

    Have a wonderful New Year!!!!

I wanted to claim back a PPI on a loan which I took out online with Lloyds TSB. The Amount was £2100

After sending them the template letter and waiting the allotted time they never responded so I sent a complaint letter stating they had not responded and they told me to either give them more time or write to the FOS which I opted to do.

After I had done this Lloyds responded rejecting the claim, I had already written to the FOS so decided to let them handle it.

Two weeks later I received a letter stating that Lloyds still upheld there original decision but decided as a goodwill gesture they would refund all of my PPI payments + £200 on top.

I have now just received a letter from Lloyds stating that they will pay £2600 into my account within 14 days.

I never thought it would work as I applied for the loan online and all of the terms etc are available on there, I just argued the point that pre selected tick boxes where used and I did not know that they where adding PPI onto the loan.

What a great start to the new year :j

this is my first posting here, and first of all, i just want to wish everyone here happy new year.
i have been following this forum since November 2009. I stumbled upon this forum one day when i tried to find out about PPI and what exactly that I have been paying for donkey's years. It was only through MSE that i found out about the mis-selling of the PPI.
So, in the middle of November i started sending out some letters based on the templates on this forum.
The first one to reply was MBNA and they stated how grateful they were to be given the opportunity to review and address the points that I raised in the letter plus blah blah blah the usual mantra...
Today, I checked the online account and i found the amount of GBP4430 was credited in it.
A great start to new year. I would like to sincerely thank every single one in this forum. Keep up the good work. Great job. Cheers.

Take a look at this link here to see if it explains anything in regards of interest, its how the FOS works out calculations.
