I recently stumbled across a loan agreement with AA Financial Services, from July 1995 (yes, 14 years ago!), and noted that I had been charged nearly £2500 for loan PPI.

I wrote to BoS requesting the money back + interest and a couple of weeks ago I received a letter asking me to contact them, which I ignored. Today, Christmas Eve, I received another letter offering to put me "in the position you would have been in had you not taken the insurance". I should have the money within a month. It was that easy!

Whilst I have not actually received the money yet I thought I'd share this tale of seasonal joy :j and say a big thanks to Martin, MSE and all the members who motivated me to act, with their success stories.

    Hello and welcome.;)

WOW this is fantastic, Well done and Congratulations.:beer:
This will give others hope as well, absolutely brilliant.:T:T

To everyone on this site - I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous and fruitful New Year. Thanks for the support and encouragement you give (especially Di, Amersall, Marshallka and so many others - you know who you are - you're all amazing and wonderful!), it certainly helped me when I was about ready to give up. I received a letter yesterday from Halifax/Bank of Scotland regarding PPI on loans I had with AA Personal Finance. They've agreed that the PPI was missold so will be refunding me!!! It'll be offset against a loan that I've almost paid off so with a bit of luck I'll have some left over! What a Christmas present!!! :j

So, once again, have a fantastic Christmas and stay safe in this awful weather. Its snowy, icy, foggy and very cold here in Lincolnshire. Driving to my daughter's later too )

    Love and best wishes,

    EllBee

  • Hi,

Received a letter from HBOS today offering me £900 in repayment for mis sold PPI. This was for a loan that I took out years ago and had no paperwork for! Initially they refused to give me the details under my SAR request but the diddy gave me the account number. So, I stuck in the claim "blind" so to speak. Am well chuffed. :rotfl:

    Merry Xmas!!
