  • Hi Guy's,

I recently had some success with my mis-sold PPI claim against MBNA credit card. They sent me a letter stating they would refund 250 to my credit card and they have sent me a cheque for 850. They have stated that this is a good will gesture and its a final offer. I phoned them yesterday as i'm sure it should be at least 1000 more but the women said that the amount paid was all that was due to me. I was going to send away and request all my statements.

Has this happened to anyone else and is it worth taken it further as i think the women is full of crap!!

    Thanks
  • Loan Amount £12k
    Provider Egg.com (Online)
    Reclaimed £3400

I took out a 12k Loan with Egg.com in August 2006 on their website. After reading about egg being fined for misselling on your website, I wrote to them to complain in November 2009 using your first letter template. They wrote back to me within two weeks asking for more information because I applied for the loan online and they couldnt understand how I could have been missold to. I then used your second letter template and stated that when I applied for the loan egg.coms website automatically quoted me the repayment figures including PPI. I said that their website made PPI more of an opt out option than an opt in. They replied again with two weeks to tell me that they had records of recieving a letter from me but it had never made its way to my claims handler and could I contact them via telephone asap.

I rang up and the lady was very apologetic about losing my letter but asked could I explain the contents over the phone. I repeated exactly what was in the letter. She said that was exactly what she wanted to hear and I would recieve a letter stating egg's findings within 10 days.

Sure enough 10 days later a letter arrived stating I would be repaid £3009 for the PPI, £320 was deducted as that had not yet become due then £700 was added in interest giving a total of £3,400 ish 4 days before christmas.

I would like to say thank you to Martin for his help as this would never have been possible with out him.
