    Hi Stellaboy

Just as well you keep a track on things, good for you.

Stand your ground here and you tell them what you expect to be refunded, good luck, please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)

  • Hi all, I'm new to this and have only checked out the forums today after being ambushed at an airport in Spain by Blue Sky Claims who want a £50 fee to look to see if I can make any claims, if not I get it back, if there is a worthwhile claim I then have to pay them more money and they get a percentage of the payout but looks like I can do this myself?

Can you just go on a fishing trip with all companis you have dealt with or do you need old policy numbers, ref no's etc? In the last 8yrs I have had a secure job and have always refused PPI, etc but I understand some companies just add it on anyway, in that case are they really gonna tell you if they have?

    Many thanks.

    Hi and welcome.......:D;)

Well first of all if you have no paperwork or no account number in order to help for you to continue with any of your reclaiming, you can of course request a Subject Access Request (SAR), where they have 40 days to send you everything they hold on your account(s), there is a cost of £10 postal order or cheque payment for this request and the template letter for this SAR is here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
    Post by recorded delivery.

For a free method of retrieving your account number where you can then continue to reclaim with having the account number details, if you have taken out any loans or still paying for them over the last 5/6 years, the account number would be shown next to the monthly repayments, such as on bank statements of when the loan payments were made.

If you no paper statements, and bank online this should allow you to go back as far as 6 years, so if you do manage to get hold of your account numbers, you can then fire away on the reclaiming of the PPI.

For more info on mis selling, with guidelines of reclaiming, to include a checklist of mis selling reasons, also reclaiming template letters on the link here below:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
Again post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.

You can reclaim if mis sold for any reason on loan PPI, credit card ppi, store card, car finance, catalogues and so on, hope this helps, please yell if you require any help from here, good luck.;)

I won, I won, I won..... BUT not the interest element of the PPI in my rebate complaint but still a nice amount that will help with Christmas nicely...:D

FOS have not had to adjudicate as i have been in contact with Lloyds of London who have agreed I was unfairly rebated on the PPI and they have paid back for the unsued months and the 8% statutory interest and cause they offered me a totally wrong amount (which would have been nice!!!) and then withdrew it also by the end of the day I was given £250 for stress. I did not even have to ask for that one.;)

Just spoke to FOS this morning (the manager who deal with all complaints like mine against underwriters) and he said that all complaints where you have been unfairly rebated are within jurisdiction (if you can prove your rebate was unfair) BUT they only rebate your actual PPI and not the associated interest. I also asked about misselling complaints against insurers/underwriters and he said that as yet they had not had any cases whereby the underwriter had actually taken responsibility for them but they are still trying. I am just glad that all my reclaiming is finally done and dusted.

Thanks for anyone that egged me on... I would never give up and perseverance has paid off in the end.:beer::beer::beer:

Just rang them to accept their offer and could not resist to ask for a nice Christmas hamper and also a bottle of bubbly..... he just laughed....lol I wonder....................now I am dreaming....
Just read this ...................congratulations. You deserve it, you are such an inspiration and encourager and we thank you for that. Do you have any more to go after?
