  • I would contact the FOS, that usually gives them some direction :)
  • Indeed, I have sent them an email to ask in the hope they will tire of me and send me the letter lol. I shall call Nationwide tomorrow anyway :) thanks marshallka

I phoned them today and they were actually really helpful and pleasant, they are going to look into it and call me back but I feel quite confident that they will crack on with it.

Thats great news. I hope they sort it out for you and quick. I found my bank very nice and pleasant and also LLoyds of London's complaint too. I did not find Firstplus at all nice but not all the same as you have found out. ;)

I was told verblly by Lloyds back in October that my complaint was being upheld. After much hassling from us we finally got a letter dated 5th November telling us they would be refunding (so at least we have it in writing) but they could not give any timescale & to date we are still no further forward, really frustrating as we know we're getting something back but no idea when or how much, we haven't even had a letter to sign like everyone on here seems to. We originally complained back in July so really feel like they are pushing their luck, we have bank accounts/credit card & insurance with Lloyds, is it worth making a bit more noise about this and perhaps threatening to close accounts etc?? or should I try going higher up the staff chain? does anyone have any advice on this?
Hi, if as sexinthecity says you used the FOS then perhaps get back to them. If it was upheld without FOS then perhaps a nudge to the firm may help. It is your money after all;)

Just had another thought. If they are not playing it your way within an agreed time then perhaps you could threaten to complain to FOS and do it too (if this has not been won through FOS that is??).

If you have a contact name for the person dealing with your claim you could email them or search on FSA site for email address for Lloyds Director of PPI or Head of Compliance & Operations and ask if payment has been issued yet.

This is what I did, using a different approach worked well for me. I got refund within a few weeks hopefully you will be lucky too.

    All the best.

    Gerry x ;)

    Hi everyone,

Now that I have had success with Egg PPI (£800 in 10 days from 1 letter), the bug has bitten me!

From May 2001 to July 2004 I had a Morgan Stanley Gold CC, which changed to Goldfish just before I paid it off and cancelled.

I definitely had PPI cover on this but as Morgan Stanley have been swallowed by Barclaycard I am unsure who to try and claim from.

I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction with any tips for any potential pitfalls.

    Many thanks,

    Dunkydo

    Hi folks,

    Quick update regards Morgan Stanley/Barclaycard......

Received a letter from Barclaycard stating that they did not have any record of my account number as their takeover may have been after I cleared my balance. However, I checked with my Equifax Credit Report (very handy when it comes to obtaining start/end dates for agreements btw) and the account was satisfied in 2008 - after the takeover.

Anyway, phoned Barclaycard querying this info and the Customer Services advisor could not have been more helpful. She advised me to look out an old MS statement which showed PPI been taken off the account and fax it to them along with a breakdown of any refund being claimed over the 8 years I had the card - result!

I had thought that they might offer me under a grand but when I did the calculation in came out to nearer £2,200!!!!!

So I now wait with baited breath for their response - fingers crossed...

    Cheers,

    Dunkydo
  • Wow result Dunkydo.... CONGRATULATIONS.
    Hope the money comes quickly.

    Merry Christmas
