CHeers Di. I will not settle till money is in the bank though. They have asked for our account number to do it direct and i was right about how rebate complaints are worked out. I don't know how others get the interest included in theirs but I had this offer two weeks ago and then have asked the FOS to agree or disagree that whereby a rebate complaint is sorted out that the associated interest charged at settlement cause of the PPI (not interest on the loan but just the PPI bit) be inclued in the rebate redress or not. FOS took a whole week and half to get back as they did not know and I was told it would then be a precedent if it was to be included. Last week TWO Ombudsman have actually agreed that associated interest is not included. I thought not but just wanted clarification of this before accepting. Its the LENDER who makes on the interest..... so confusing when you have a lender, broker and insurer.... about who is responsible for what.

Cheers pinknico:beer:. Not been an easy one and I have had so many hurdles but just kept arguing them. I was right though about rebate complaints in that they only pay back the unused part of the premium (without the interest part) but still better than a kick up the !!!! and very helpful just now..;)

  • Hello

Can anyone help me please. The FOS have told us that Nationwide have agreed to refund us our PPI premiums plus 8% and they will be sending us a letter out for us to sign and return, then they will pass everything onto Nationwide who will issue the actual figures and payment.

I spoke to adjudicator last week who said letter will be coming out to us. I sent a polite email to ask when we could expect to receive the letter. I got a reply saying that they do not have a timescale as to when this letter will be issued ? I dont understand, they wrote to us saying it would be two months for this letter and they will contact us for blah blah but now the complaint is, in my eyes, settled, surely getting everything signed and finished and another off their books is a priority no ? Or is that not how it works. Just dont want to have to wait months again when we have been told that its all sorted.

    Thanks for any replies

We had the same trouble with our bank complaint and in the end I rang the bank and asked for it. It was then they transferred direct to our bank account. I asked FOS how long it would be and they said like they have with you that there is no timescale as such but its usually about 4 weeks. Ours took about that I think. I have noticed someone on here last week say that some firms are now taking 90 days or so but I would just give the firm a shove in the right direction if you can. Well done on your win though.:T

I won, I won, I won..... BUT not the interest element of the PPI in my rebate complaint but still a nice amount that will help with Christmas nicely...:D

FOS have not had to adjudicate as i have been in contact with Lloyds of London who have agreed I was unfairly rebated on the PPI and they have paid back for the unsued months and the 8% statutory interest and cause they offered me a totally wrong amount (which would have been nice!!!) and then withdrew it also by the end of the day I was given £250 for stress. I did not even have to ask for that one.;)

Just spoke to FOS this morning (the manager who deal with all complaints like mine against underwriters) and he said that all complaints where you have been unfairly rebated are within jurisdiction (if you can prove your rebate was unfair) BUT they only rebate your actual PPI and not the associated interest. I also asked about misselling complaints against insurers/underwriters and he said that as yet they had not had any cases whereby the underwriter had actually taken responsibility for them but they are still trying. I am just glad that all my reclaiming is finally done and dusted.

Thanks for anyone that egged me on... I would never give up and perseverance has paid off in the end.:beer::beer::beer:

Just rang them to accept their offer and could not resist to ask for a nice Christmas hamper and also a bottle of bubbly..... he just laughed....lol I wonder....................now I am dreaming....
