    Success for my husband.........:j
He was successful with a credit card ppi 2007 (Lloyds TSB) a few months back, and today he received his letter from the ombudsman who was dealing with the 2001 case, and have upheld in my hubby's favour, Lloyds are to put my hubby back in the position as if PPI was not taken (this is the one he settled and paid off in 2004), and the 8%. and also £100 compensation for the distress and inconvenience.

Lloyds have also been informed to send my hubby a statement showing the result, on how its calculated.
:jwell done Di,hope your hubby gets you a luvly xmas pressie lol:j:jxx

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to send off a second letter to Egg reiterating the points. If it's still a rejetion then onto the FOS I go. I'm not going to give up on it at the first hurdle!

Barclaycard letter sent today so we'll wait and see on that one!

    Your welcome and fingers crossed.

You can always hope that they conveniently forget about that (as if) cos they nearly always seem to forget to treat their customers fairly. xx
  • :jEvening all, after emailing the director of PPI at Black Horse and chasing it up a couple of times throughout the week I have finally had the below response

Thank you for your e-mail and I am sorry that you are dissatisfied with the position.

The situation is that we have no record of receiving your subsequent letters and therefore regarded the matter as closed. I have looked at the case and whilst I note the comments you have made, the agreement and demands and needs were completed and you did not purchase full payment protection insurance but merely life cover, so this does not suggest that there was an insistence that you had to purchase full payment protection insurance in order to have the agreement accepted.

Although there is no evidence to support that the policy was sold incorrectly, as a gesture of goodwill I am arranging for a refund of the insurance paid by you to be refunded. As the agreement has been settled early, the settlement figure paid included a rebate of a proportion of the insurance cost as you receive a rebate in the event of early settlement. We are calculating the amount of refund due and will be writing to you setting out the offer for your consideration.

    Regards
    Paul

Although I am so so happy that they are going to pay out I need to know how to work this out.
I understand upto the refund of the insurance paid by you (i.e a refund of everything i paid in insurance) but i dont really understand the rest.
I need help as will be unsure whether the offer is correct or not.

Any help or advise would be very much appreciated. i have the agreement here and can give people the figures in order to help me out if needs be
