    What were you reclaiming: Loancare Payment Protection Insurance
    Who was the provider: Nationwide
    How much did you get back: £5,166
    Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Financial Ombudsman

    Wrote 1st letter August 2008 using template from MSE website - reply was no case to answer!
    Wrote 2nd letter from same website - the answer was still no!
    Wrote 3rd letter saying I had no option but to go to Financial Ombudsman.

    The Financial Ombudsman subsequently found in my favour and Nationwide have just repaid the PPI with interest as well as £200 compensation for any emotional distress caused:j

    The help and advice on this website has been invaluable - without it, I wouldn't have even realised I had a case. Many thanks everyone :D

    P.S. I believe I also have a case against AWD Home Finance but unfortunately, they're not regulated by the Financial Ombudsman. Anyone know how I can pursue this claim - I have written countless letters already but haven't had any success? Thanks.

    Well done and Congratulation.:beer::T:beer:

    I would still try to reclaim on the ones not regulated, many of us are in the same situation and have taken it the underwriter/insurer side of it, as most these were regulated, the FOS have accepted looking at my case and other on here by going this direction, so find out who the insurers are and write to them, give them the usual 8 weeks, if they don't resolve for you, then you can ask the FOS to investigate this for you, good luck, keep at them.;)

    Thanks di :A:A

    The news about Bank charges case has put a bit of a damper on it for me though. I’m terribly upset for everyone who has been patiently waiting for the courts decision, the outcome its disgraceful. :eek: :mad:
    Fortunately due to the good advice from you guys on MSE, I was successful at claiming through Financial hardship. ;)

    Success for my husband.........:j:j:j
    He was successful with a credit card ppi 2007 (Lloyds TSB) a few months back, and today he received his letter from the ombudsman who was dealing with the 2001 case, and have upheld in my hubby's favour, Lloyds are to put my hubby back in the position as if PPI was not taken (this is the one he settled and paid off in 2004), and the 8%. and also £100 compensation for the distress and inconvenience.

    Lloyds have also been informed to send my hubby a statement showing the result, on how its calculated.:beer:
