Who was the provider: MBNA

Wrote 1st letter using template money saving expert website - reply was a big fat no!
Wrote 2nd letter from same website - was offered £100 goodwill gesture.
I said a big fat no!
Wrote 3rd letter saying I had no option but to go to ombudsman. Finally they agreed to repay with interest and also gave me the £100 goodwill gesture as compensation for the trouble.:j0 -
Sent the first template letter off at the end of last month to citifinancial. they responded 5days later saying they would investigate whether ppi was mis sold and notify me within 4 weeks.
Pleased to say they took 3 weeks to say they had "no evidence to say i was mis sold it" but they offered me a goodwill gesture payment of £1383!!!
nearly 200quid more than i expected but who am i to complain?
also got 286 quid back from argos and currently waiting on a biggy from freedom finance who are set to respond this week.

After successfully claiming back just under £1500 in September of this year I decided to call the bank and ask for all of the Loan reference numbers that I had taken when I was a student and early/mid 20s.
Now I took a loan out in 2003 and remember toping it up a few times but apparantly I took out x4 further loans...all with PPI.
I was made redundant in 2004 and had to make x1 claim against my PPI for about £365 so when I put my claim in I thought that would make the whole loan and PPI taken against it invalid to claim against.
How wrong I was...I have just got home and received a letter through the post this morning offering me just over £7200 :j
New York for Crimbo methinks !!!
Without MSE I would never have had this money - just wanted to say thansl to all involved.
ps: - Now when does that bank charges court case finish !!!0 -

Well done all you successes!!.
I have been waiting for my re-calculated loan documents and payment since 19 October. How long should i give them?.. I call once a week and they say they have had technical issues and are now catching up. Is there a set time frame for the refunds (HFC) any help is appreciated :-)TrishaWhen I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Hi Trisha
Hope your well.;)
Your still waiting?
I don't think there is a timescale but surely they have had ample time to deal with this.
Have they an head office, where you can try to speak to the Manager perhaps? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
What were you reclaiming: Loancare Payment Protection Insurance
Who was the provider: Nationwide
How much did you get back: £5,166
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Financial Ombudsman
Wrote 1st letter August 2008 using template from MSE website - reply was no case to answer!
Wrote 2nd letter from same website - the answer was still no!
Wrote 3rd letter saying I had no option but to go to Financial Ombudsman.
The Financial Ombudsman subsequently found in my favour and Nationwide have just repaid the PPI with interest as well as £200 compensation for any emotional distress caused:j
The help and advice on this website has been invaluable - without it, I wouldn't have even realised I had a case. Many thanks everyone
P.S. I believe I also have a case against AWD Home Finance but unfortunately, they're not regulated by the Financial Ombudsman. Anyone know how I can pursue this claim - I have written countless letters already but haven't had any success? Thanks.0 -
