What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
Who was the provider: Beneficial / HFC Bank
How much did you get back: £9,200
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter to company
Took a while to get anywhere as kept claiming not received various letters. The £9,200 was total for 3 seperate loans taken out between 2002 & 2004 due to refinancing twice. Final loan was paid off 2 years ago but thought I would see if could still claim. Was very surprised and happy as didnt have to go to Ombudsman either and thanks to this website was very easy process to follow. They are currently addressing a seperate issue in that one of the loan agreements was never signed by myself or the company.

Good luck to everyone attempting to get money back.

    Brilliant :T:T
Well done and Congratulations, a lovely lot of money, well deserved and you will certainly have a fab xmas......:xmassign::xmastree::beer:

Hi everyone hope everyone in moneysaving land is well!!
I wrote to Blackhorse on 14th july this year to say my PPI of over £4000 on a loan i have of £8000 had been mis-sold and i requeted they refund all premiums plus interest.
They responded to me on the 22nd of july to say there was no evidence to support the claim and refused to refund all premiums.(surprise surprise!)
I then sent them a final letter to say i would be taking up this claim with the financial ombudsman to investigate.I gave them 14 days to reply but they didn't respond in time and i filled out the online complaint form i printed from the ombudsman website.Sent it to the ombudsman on the 16th september and by the 22nd of september i had a response from Blackhorse to say, although they still feel that the PPI was not mis-sold,they agreed to pay all premiums plus interest that i had paid on the loan and cancel the PPI on the loan.
After a lengthy delay on the 17th of November i recieved a cheque from Blackhorse of just over £1500...Plus my payments of £219 per month on the loan went down to £140 a month which has made our financial situation better!
To say me and my family are over the moon about this is the biggest understatment ever!!
I have got to give a massive thankyou to Martin Lewis and Moneysavingexpert.com team for all the media coverage which has given me the knowhow a confidence try to reclaim bank charges and to successfully reclaim my PPI.
But the biggest thanks as regards to my PPI is to amersall :Aand di3004:A! There fantastic advice in aiding me in reclaiming my PPI was simply invaluable!..Thanks guys so much!!..I'm really glad there are crooks like banks etc out there because it allows for people like you to shine so much!!....Thanks again!! Good luck with the case with the FLA as well, fingers crossed, if this does not work then do give the FOS another go, to ask if there are other ways around this one, maybe through the underwriter/insurer then for example.;)
