    Hello All

I was a little skepitcal about this, but guess it was worth a try
Claim made to Egg credit card PPI
Used the templates from here, thank you
    Sent letter 1 on 25/06/09
Got confirmation letter complaint being looked into within a week
Received letter 11/07/09 getting refund for £976.83, :j
Only this is being paid back on to my Egg card no option given for chq refund, so will be calling them on monday.

Otherwise a good result...thank you Martin

My husband on the other hand got a No from Egg has signed up online so not their fault agreements not read

We still are still waititng to hear back from HFC / TESCO / A&L, will let you all know how these go

Just an update on how we got on with other PPI's

Egg ok yes as above refunded but as we had a small balance on the card they take it of this !!!, dont think very fair as we always clear at the end of the month
Husband and his Egg card they had copy of agreement so no chance

HFC comunication was pants i had to chase them to see if letter received then the next thing we get is a Big No Chance all documents accounted for and copies sent as they give you 7 day cooling off etc that is your chance then to cancel so hard luck here
A&L much better comunication and better news £1400 received back :j
Tesco very good a weekly letter to say investigation being dealt with and then looking into there findings, had all documention accounted for but as sold via a call centre they could not confirm is mis-sold but would offer £750 as good will if we did not contest , we took it :T

    PPI TOTAL RECLAIMED £3126.83 ;)

Result i got a nice new kitchen out of this :rotfl:

well done!! have you not challenged hfc? i would write back and tell them that you believe you were mis sold and if they wont reconsider you will go to fos, just because you signed and had 7 days cooling off period does not mean you were not given bad advice etc, you go for it and good luck. nr did this with me and after fos i won, you go get em!!
  • Hi I am currently claiming ppi from HFC and as you say the commumication is awful. I spoke to the FO and they advised that I contact them and ask for the final letter ,recieved letter from HFC and the Fo are now dealing with the case.

It was almost as if HFC wanted to be rid of it and allow the FO to process.
Will let you know how this develops.
SPC £500 well will try very hard.

    GC £6.16/£150

  • Hi everyone hope everyone in moneysaving land is well!!
I wrote to Blackhorse on 14th july this year to say my PPI of over £4000 on a loan i have of £8000 had been mis-sold and i requeted they refund all premiums plus interest.
They responded to me on the 22nd of july to say there was no evidence to support the claim and refused to refund all premiums.(surprise surprise!)
I then sent them a final letter to say i would be taking up this claim with the financial ombudsman to investigate.I gave them 14 days to reply but they didn't respond in time and i filled out the online complaint form i printed from the ombudsman website.Sent it to the ombudsman on the 16th september and by the 22nd of september i had a response from Blackhorse to say, although they still feel that the PPI was not mis-sold,they agreed to pay all premiums plus interest that i had paid on the loan and cancel the PPI on the loan.
After a lengthy delay on the 17th of November i recieved a cheque from Blackhorse of just over £1500...Plus my payments of £219 per month on the loan went down to £140 a month which has made our financial situation better!
To say me and my family are over the moon about this is the biggest understatment ever!!
I have got to give a massive thankyou to Martin Lewis and Moneysavingexpert.com team for all the media coverage which has given me the knowhow a confidence try to reclaim bank charges and to successfully reclaim my PPI.
But the biggest thanks as regards to my PPI is to amersall :Aand di3004:A! There fantastic advice in aiding me in reclaiming my PPI was simply invaluable!..Thanks guys so much!!..I'm really glad there are crooks like banks etc out there because it allows for people like you to shine so much!!....Thanks again!! • What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
Who was the provider: Beneficial / HFC Bank
How much did you get back: £9,200
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter to company
Took a while to get anywhere as kept claiming not received various letters. The £9,200 was total for 3 seperate loans taken out between 2002 & 2004 due to refinancing twice. Final loan was paid off 2 years ago but thought I would see if could still claim. Was very surprised and happy as didnt have to go to Ombudsman either and thanks to this website was very easy process to follow. They are currently addressing a seperate issue in that one of the loan agreements was never signed by myself or the company.

Good luck to everyone attempting to get money back.
