PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

HI Everyone,
I firstly would like to thank Mr Money Expert for creating this site for your everyday person, and the useful hints & tips.
I would like to say that I sent my PPi letter to the Llotds TSB to Claim back £797.50 in PPI charges, I have just recieved a letter from the above mentioned bank. Stating that they are upholding my claim for £797.50, and the refund will be calculated in to way.
This is the way that they are calculating my refund:
8% on the monthly payment and then 8% on the annual figure.
So for anyone that has not decided to claim, all I can say is if you don't ask you don't get what your due back.
I will be a few hundred pound better off now.
I am still waiting for RBS and Black Horse to get back to me.
But this is a positive start!
Thanks again to MoneyExpert0 -
Hi there all.
Had a rejection letter from Egg CC PPI this was an internet application from 2001.
Stated the following:-
Our online sales process:
Doesn't require you to take PPI as a condition of obtaining CC
Does not provide and advisory service
Required you to positively confirm that you wished to purchase PPI
Provided full terms and conditions of the policy and requested you read them before submitting.
They have sent a copy of my real time application there is a box which reads accident sickness unemployment and life they are saying if I hadn't opted this would have read 'none'.
Anyone got any ideas or had sucess with Egg CC PPI.0 -
Hi there,
All it took was one letter from the templates on this site and Egg refunded £800 back against my outstanding balance within 10 days.
I find it strange that they are fighting yours as mine was completed online too.......I think it's time for Template Letter 2!!
All the very best,
Dunkydo
Yeah I followed your story re Egg and was kinda hoping it would be resolved along a similar timescale!! Did you mention in your first letter about Egg having been fined for mis-selling?I'm not sure if I put enough in initial letter.
I am e-mailing all my correspondance to them too via secure messaging service.
Cheers

Hi there hopefully someone who have had dealing with BH will post up for you.
But normally its approx say 28 days or a month after you have signed and accepted, although due to high volumes of these complaints they are all dealing with it can take longer, some other banks are stating they do not have a timescale, but if you hear nothing say after a month of signing, chase them up, good luck.;)
I have been waiting since the beginning of September, it went all the way to FOS, with there intervention BH decided to payout, but still waiting for them to send the cheque, dont even know how much I am expecting to receive.
Good luck on getting your money back, hope it's a bit faster than mine.0 -

Hi Tomcody,
I did mention them getting fined in my letter - I picked 3 reasons for claiming.
It may be worth re-sending by e-mail (cro.support@egg.com). Put it for the attention of the Customer Relations Adviser who 'wrote' to you.
All the very best,
Kind Regards,
