THe original Loan amount was for £14300.00 the ppi was £5981.99 both of these figures was without interest.
I paid the loan back in full 12 months later and the settlement figure was £17088.00.
Where do I go from here???

    Claire

Either wait for the calculations they send you or request them by phone or email.

Once you have the rebate figure of the PPI, we will have some idea of what figure you are looking at getting refunded.

I love your determination your like a dog with a bone, you’re a wee superstar….

I know that you definitely wont want my help working your figures out. I must confess to being way out on my maths, its just as well that i didn’t put any figures in correspondence. I thought i was due about £1,000 back on my policy however they offered me £2700 as a settlement figure.

    Success for my husband.........:j:j:j
He was successful with a credit card ppi 2007 (Lloyds TSB) a few months back, and today he received his letter from the ombudsman who was dealing with the 2001 case, and have upheld in my hubby's favour, Lloyds are to put my hubby back in the position as if PPI was not taken (this is the one he settled and paid off in 2004), and the 8%. and also £100 compensation for the distress and inconvenience.

Lloyds have also been informed to send my hubby a statement showing the result, on how its calculated.
:beer:well done my hubby is with the fos with a Lloyds ppi can i ask how long yours as been with the fos ty:T:T

If you haven't already done so I would suggest that you check the credit agreement - one reason I used was the fact that they had included the details of the PPI on the agreement including the cost. They did not however mention anywhere that the PPI was optional.
Hope this helps - don't give up!

Don't worry... I won't!! I don't seem to have the original credit agreement to refer to but would imagine it to be similar to yours (my application was 1 year earlier than yours). I'm sure if it had have mentioned the fact it was optional I wouldn't have taken it out. At that time I needed as much money as I could get! I think I'll have to go back to Egg to request it. A bit long winded but patience is a virtue!

Thanks once again D1955... you are a true stalwort of this forum!

    Hi hun and thank you.
Hubbys first went to the FOS over a year ago, so not too bad really, as this went as far as the ombudsman, because Lloyds TSB ignored the adjudicators decision, so it had to wait then to investigated by the ombudsman himself.

However, my actual one was just a matter of months, they do seem to be getting through Lloyds TSB complaints quicker now, so hopefully your hubby will hear very soon with a positive outcome, and I'm sure he will, good luck.;)
