Well today started as a disaster as my car seems to have finally reached the end of its life
However my sister called to say we had 2 letters from BOS/Halifax - 1 saying they will give dad back all his insurance premiums on his credit card and the one I have been waiting for, my Sainsbury loan saying they are going to repay me aswell! Eeeeekkk
I am yet to get the amounts or know if they will just pay it off the remainder of my loan or if I will get a cheque. Either this means I can actually afford to put my poor old car in for scrappage and get a safe reliable one and have a lovely relaxed winter. Hooray
The halifax one was simply 1 template letter from here, and the sainsburys was 1 letter and phonecall with a very friendly and helpful chap. So far it has taken only just 5 weeks - I am amazed, thanks Martin and MSE team.
Just A&L cc and Capital One - have not heard from neither yet!
Thanks to everyone for posting their stories and giving people hope for their own claims. Thanks also to the advice I have been given on my other posts.
Good luck everyone, I will update when I have the final figures£10 a day 2015 Oct £131.38/£310
Challenge - Save £6,000 in 2015 - £4034.44/£6000
House deposit saving - £4034.44/£20,0000 -

I applied for an egg credit card online in 2002. About 18 months ago I cancelled the PPI on the account as I am covered by my employer.
Having investigated the mis-selling on this site and others I came to the conclusion that I had been mis-sold.
Sent a letter to egg last week stating that the on line application used tick boxes for PPI and that it wasn't clear if I was buying it or not. The documentation that they sent me at the time included details of the PPI but did not mention the fact that this was an optional insurance.
I have logged on to my egg account today and to my surprise the account has been credited by just under £5k.
I am amased at the speed of response and staggered at the amount refunded! I am also very surprised that egg did not try to contest my claim in any way.
I hope this will encourage others to continue with their claims.0 -
