- What were you reclaiming: PPI
- Who was the provider: Egg Loan
- How much did you get back: £1690
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After 1 letter
I wouldn't have believed you if you told us it was this easy. One letter to egg and today arrives two cheques totalling nearly £1700. Bloody cracking.
Thank you, thank you, for all your help

Hi All,
Helping a friend reclaim PPI on a number of loans and cc's. Success so far with A&L x 2, Egg have now sent a cheque on a loan and still awaiting credit card decision.
Received a reply from Abbey regarding cc saying they would refund all premiums paid and cancel PPI, totalling 570 pounds. They don't mention anything about interest? Also received letter from MBNA, who the card is run through asking for proof that my friend was unemployed on the date the policy was taken out. As he was a student at university, but working part time does this count? If so we have his P60's showing he earned around 6000 during the tax year.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance

Had a Halifax letter...they're paying me back £237 quid on the PPI for my credit card, so that knocks down that a bit! Still waiting for a Cap1 answer, and need to print off letters to send about charges!
Hi elfen
Well done to you and Congratulations.

Hi there, first of all well done on helping our your friend and for the success,:T:T.
I would take a photocopy of the p60 and do not send the original, or get some advice from the information commissioners office (ICO) on this here:
https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
Anything I think under 16 hours they would not be protected to that is a case, hope this helps and good luck with the remaining of the reclaims.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Looking for some advice, LLoyds TSB have made me an offer which i have accepted and returned the signed form to them. They said it was 'actioned' on the 20th October and it would take 21 days (not sure if working days) from this date. I still have not recieved my refund, and have read on other posts that people have been having problems with Lloyds, and that they are no longer giving out timescales. However, i have phoned them, and they state it is being processed and one advisor gave a 21 days timescale and when i called today the didn't. Apparently I can't speak direct to the refund team, but they have emailed them twice for me. Can anyone advise me on either their own experience or of that they have heard of, in terms of have people been getting refunds from Lloyds? How long did it take - as i presume people would only report the bad experiences (?). I really need this money as it was promised within 21 days, and i have debts to pay. Any advice or guidance on how long others have waited or what I should do would be good. They also stated that their is a 'backlog' so if they know this then surely they know where they are up to? Many Thanks in advance.0

Hello, welcome and well done to you.
It seems that this week quite a few have been waiting and told about there is no timescale issue.
I would in your case due to debt hardship write them a quick letter and tell them due to your hardship, please could they send your refund by 7 days as from the date of your letter.
Hopefully they will consider this.
However, I understand they have stacks and backlogs of these refunds to deal with and even more now since the recent news in the media, with these one of them named to get these complaints resolved direct.
Hope they refund this to you by when you request for this, let us know and we shall take it from there, good luck, oh and post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting, good luck.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
