    • What were you reclaiming: PPI
    • Who was the provider: Alliance & Leicester
    • How much did you get back: £1483 ( inc interest)
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After 1s letter
Took out a loan for £6000 with A&L in 2005 , unaware of ppi inclusion until I got a statement earlier this year & could see how much I was paying for the ppi per month. Signed up to MSE & started looking through all the threads & suddenly the light clicked on in my head & realised that I had been missold the ppi. Downloaded the templates last week & on 5 Nov sent off claims to 5 different lenders for missold ppis.
Credit here to A&L I sent the letter on 5 Nov 2009 & received an offer back yesterday 11 Nov 2009 for £1483, less than a week from letter to offer - is this a record ? Although I will have to wait & see how long it takes to get the cheque out to me.
Many thanks to all at MSE & all of you for all the postings here - been a huge help.

Just had confirmation from the ombudsman that they have upheld my complaint against Egg for mis-selling credit card PPI. Now just have to wait for details of the settlement from Egg.

My question is, the credit card still has an outstanding balance on it which i'm paying off month by month. Will Egg just use the settlement figure to reduce the balance on the credit card or I be getting a cheque for the full amount?

    Thanks

    Hello there
    Well done to you .
For more info on how the FOS calculated refunds, check this link here, Maxdp posted these details on here:

    Hey guys!
Wow cant believe the amount of successes this week! Well done!

I have had a reply from Littlewoods saying that they are not going to repay me as I took out the Catalogue with them in November 2003 and they were not regulated by the FSA until December 2003....so basically I cannot complain to the FOS and their letter was very rude and basically "you cant complain anymore so nar nar nar nar nar". I spent hours last night researching on the net and checking out all the Claimants to Littlewoods and they have all had the same trouble. Seems like such a joke they can get away with it as fair enough they were not regulated when I took it out but they were for the next 6 years....Anyway they must have been regulated by someone so today I instructed my solicitor (my friend - so the most this is going to cost me is a bottle of champers) and we have sent them a very strongly worded reply and I shall let you know if they still stick to their "nar nar nar nar nar" attitude.

Good luck and fingers crossed with this then, please let us know how you get on cheers.;)

    Hi there
Firstly may I say well done on your success!
Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong but egg should send you a cheque if your account is upto date with no missed payments etc!

Can I ask How long your claim was with the FOS before it was upheld as I have a claim with them at the moment?

    Thanks
  • very impressed with Natwest
I received an offer letter last Monday after waiting 7 weeks from the first letter. They are refunding all my PI payments, a total of £4260!
I posted the agreement back to them on Tuesday last week, and the funds are in my account today! Hurray

  • Success with Lloyds TSB
    • What were you reclaiming: PPI
    • Who was the provider: LloydsTSB
    • How much did you get back: approx £300 (inc interest)
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After 1 letter
For once, can't fault LTSB, they've kept me informed all the way through (approx 7 weeks so far) with their progress. I called them today for an update and they are upholding my claim AND paying 8% interest on top!! Whey-hey, just got to wait for the offer letter now.

That's Natwest and Lloyds done - look out MBNA, Cap One and Barclaycard!

Registered my claim with the FOS in July so it hasn't taken too long really.

I know some people have been waiting up to 18 months so i'm quite impressed mine has been sorted so quickly!
