  • I would never of done this without this website so thanks to all involved with this, will help me with my young family and nearly 2 year old girl settle more into our home thank you again.

The £1865.91 amount, is the amount with no interest do you think I should pursue this amount as well? Or should I just take the first offer? Thios is with alliance and leicester by the way
  • Several years ago I applied to Freedom Finance for a loan.
During a phone call they advised me loan could only proceed if I took £2400 ppi which I did not need or want.
After seeing Martins programme I sent a letter to reclaim ppi only to be told by Freedom Finance that they only processed the loan application for Bespoke Finance who are based in Gibraltor.
This was news to me as Bespoke had never ben mentioned before but I wrote to them to reclaim and was refused.Wrote again and again was refused.
Contacted FSO who have now advised me that as Bespoke Finance have never been a member of the General Insurance Standards Council my complaint was not one they could consider.
So be sure you know who your loan is actually with and whether they are members of the GISC.
  • i have just recalimed £918.19 plus £162.46 in interest over the least year for a policy that was missold last April.

Basically- i went into Barclays and asked to cancel the PPI, they refused and said i had to reapply for the loan again at double the interest rate. They also said no to any refunds and that everything was above board.

I wrote to customer relations and threatened the obmudsman. After nearly 3 months they have agreed to refund the PPI premiums back to the loan and reschedule at the same interest rate

Persist with it folks- threaten the FSA, Ombudsman and dont give up at the first refusal

    Thanks Martin!!!

Reclaimed PPI from Hsbc! have been offered all PPI plus 8% this equates to £2535!!!
Had to go to FSO after they refused twice. They had only covered my husband on the PPI and not me also told us we had to take it! So Many thanks to this brilliant website!!!

Hi, have they actually paid you out yet? I have a similiar situation with Black Horse, the loan was in my name only but they put the PPI in my husbands name?????? Who wasn't even present when i took the loan out. Good Luck.
  • Hi, I also have a loan with HSBC. I requested to cancel the ppi on my loan but they refused saying I should have cancelled in the first 30 days. They also said to cancel I have to take out a new loan without the ppi.

I'm confused! Can I reclaim with the template letter saying I was mis-sold as they are saying I have to take out a new loan or do I need to renew the loan and then put my claim in??

    Please help!!

It depends if you think you were mis-sold. If you have just changed your mind and no longer want the insurance then I don't think you can use the template letter. I think we need more information on why you think you were mis-sold.

So as a good money saver I will pay off my barclaycard n have abit left over for a good night out!

Hi, well done on your latest victory, can you tell me if they put in a defence/you won on default or if you had to actually go to court? I've just issued papers to Black Horse and am wondering how far it will go before they cough up.Thanks. SUFC

Thanks to Martin, I've just received a cheque for £8500+ from Lombard for a loan I took out several years ago.

They refused to pay it at first, but just as I was about to send my second follow up letter I received one from them saying they would refund it after all.

I'm just about to try and get one recovered for my mother

Thanks a lot Martin, you're the man.
