Nope, you don't give up. You write back using the second template letter - basically saying you don't agree and could they take another look at your case.
Good luck!LBM November 2005: approx £32K :eek:Current debt: approx £12K :TGetting there one day at a time0 -
Claim; PPI from a personal bank loan.
From; HSBC Premier Banking.
Basis of Claim; Was made to understand that the loan would not be approved unless I accepted the PPI.
8 Weeks to the day, from sending the first letter, I received an offer of the whole amount back with interest! I accepted. £8321.53 has been credited to my account!!!! Cheers Martin!0 -
Hi
I sent a letter to Egg using the first template letter. I received a letter back stating I would have to pay £10.00 for copy statements?
Spoke to them and they have said that they don't think I can get any money back and they've never heard of anyone getting money back.
Please could someone advise me on what to do next? i.e what kind of letter to send them?
Thanks0 -

No but I was told it would help my application, my mean claim is that my loan was over ten years and the policies only last for five but they fail to tell you this until after you've taken out the loan. Why would anyone want insurace on a loan that only lasts half the life of the policy Good Luck with your claim0

Just had a letter from HSBC, they are upholding my complaint and I will be getting £1602.08 back and my monthly payments lowered by about £40 a month! I am so happy with this, I sent the first letter back in November, after 2 letters and a phone call all telling me no I decided to go to the FOS. It probably took about 5 weeks from the FOS receiving my letter to getting this offer from the bank. I very nearly gave up after the second letter. Thank you so much to everyone on this site :beer:0

Well done you ! Could I ask if you are getting the £1602.08 credited to your loan account,as a cheque or paid into your current account? Are you able to choose how you receive your refund ?
I have written to HSBC to reclaim mis-sold PPI, on an £8000 loan. I think the PPI was around £2000. I would love to get the refund paid into my current account rather than my loan account, is this possible ?
I've recieved a letter back saying that they are investigating, and that I should have a reply within 4 weeks. That was 2 weeks ago. The person that sold me the PPI no longer works for the bank. Could this help or hinder my claim ?

Loan
Abbey
£2145.03
Telephone Call
I recently enquired about income protection and realised that I could be covering my monthly salary for a fifth of what I was shelling out every month to various credit cards etc. I have been paying my Abbey loan since December 2004 with a premium of £46 for PPI - when I took out the loan it was implied that I may not be successful if I didn't take out PPI and I was never advised that I could shop around for a better deal and so I took it out. I made a phone call about 5 weeks ago to the complaints department at Abbey and I received a cheque today for the total of my monthly premiums from Dec 04 to date plus interest. :j

Have achieved a major success for my sister-in-law on her PPI for M & S & More card. After 2 letters disputing that she had ever asked for PPi to be added, they have credited back to her account £2051 covering last 3 years of premium! Although they argued it was shown on her statement each month, as she had run up debt to her limit her concern was meeting monthly payments rather than detail. They also admitted they could not find her original application form so that helped too.
We used amended versions of the template letters, so keep trying everyone!

Hi Crudgie, just wondered how long this took? I have a claim in with M&S too, they have sent me a copy of the original application form and yes the payment protection insurance box is ticked but its not my handwritting!! Where it asks for a signature its just written in block capitals and my name (and home town) is spelt wrong! It was filled out in store in 1996, but its clear that the form was not completed by me - althought I did sign the form at the end, and like your sister, for a long period of time my balance was high causing me anixety which meant that I didn't look at the statements and just paid the minimum payment by direct debit stuffing the unopened statements - for my siins - in a draw! Does anybody think I have a claim for mis-selling?
Any advise is appreciated.

Well, I never thought I would get this one!
I wrote to HSBC with the template letter for the PPI Reclaim. (Claiming £328)
Recieved a letter 7 days later, saying they would investigate it.
14 days later, I received an offer of £437.00 (which included 8% interest!!).
The money was in my account within 48 hours!!
Not bad for writing a letter!
