• Has anybody had any success from Barclaycard, My husband has had a Barclaycard since 1996 and been getting charged each month for this. When he applied he probably never paid much attention to the PPI, and to be honest i thought this was compulary up until reading about it on this website. I wrote to Barclaycard but they wrote back stating the policy was sent out and had a cooling off period for 30 days, so as he never cancelled this his complaint is not necessary. My husband said he does not remember asking for this or signing anything regarding it. As the for policy being sent out to him he was in the armed forces at the time and mail was sent to his parents address. Should i bother keeping up with this claim or take their letter as a final response.

i'd keep pushing for it.

i too don't recall asking for PPI on my barclaycard, it wasn't until receiving all my statements so i can claim charges back that i realised i did have PPI. sounds like they have sent you the same ltter which they sent me.

i replied with martins template letter 2............am yet to receive a response. they haven't replied in a week so i'm hoping they are actually looking into this time, as the first letter i sent on the 7th april, they received and replied on the 8th april, i had that letter on the 9th april - hardly time to investigate anything!
• i did my first letter to HSBC 2 weekes ago now, but i think i may have messed up.....
i took it to the branch manager and placed it in his hands directly thinking it will get into the system quicker then sending it, today as i was starting to have fears about the possibility i may have messed up i phoned them up, upon checking my record they saying nothing showing on the data that i handed anything in, but was told if the manager dealing with it then it wont nesasarily be on the data base yet, i was also told it would take a standard 40 working days to reply back....

ive demanded the manager contacts me tomoz stateing not only am i concerned about this just not going thru system yet but as my personal details are just sitting around some place and feel this is very unsatisfactory service.

So got fingers crossed he hasn't done a job on me, if he has doe's anyone know who has dealt with HSBC before know the actual adress we send these to as obviously the possibility of my local branch playing dumb is quite high now.

Also if anyone has had any dealings with Home Shopping personal finance and HFC bank would be much appreciated as HFC was the company who took the payments when wife bought a laptop on credit and after 4 weeks still waiting for a copy of the agreement thru post, and home shopping finance been waiting 3 weeks for them to get back to me.

HSBC bank charges .... on hold
Halifax bank charges .... on hold
HSBC PPI reclaim .... £4,578.08
HFC PPI reclaim .... no available ppi to reclaim!
Littlewoods PPI reclaim .... letter in awaiting reply!
• Marcus, the customer complaints department for HSBC is in Bristol. This is the address I have been using:

Customer Complaints Resolution Team
Redcliffe Quay
120 Redcliffe Street
Bristol BS1 6HU

When we were sorting my Dad's loan PPI reclaim, the initial letters were sent to HSBC's London Address, but replies came from Bristol.

Why not cut out the middle man and send your letters direct to the above address?

Hi all

I have just recieved a no letter from HSBC stating that because i signed the insurance paperwork in the branch and they cant find any evidence that i was forcefully sold the policy and lead to believe that it would affect my chancer to obtain credit, that they will take the claim no further.

My gripe is that the whole application was done over the phone, i simply called into the branch to sign the pre prepared paperwork, I feel that the sales person on the phone was very pushy with me and took advantage of the fact that i needed to obtain the loan to sell me PPI.
Secondly, when i renewed the loan a yr later, my mother called into the bank and made the request, and they gave her the paperwork to bring away with her!
Without talking to me. and again ppi was included in the quote.

I would like to send a reply back to hsbc explaining my feelings about the phone call and the loan renewal and asking them to rethink the decision that they have made!
Do you think im out of line?

and would the following sound to amateurish, im not great with words...

I am writing in response to your letter dated 29th of April 2008, with regards the insurance sold with my loan.Yourreference is:
CCRT/

I do not feel your letter has offered a satisfactory justification that my policy was sold fairly, reasonably and within my best interests so I request that you look into my complaint again.
The loan application was done over the phone after I contacted your head office with an account query, during that phone call I was offered a personal loan and lead to believe that my decision on whether or not I wanted to take out the insurance would affect my ability to receive the credit.
On numerous occasions during the phone call I voiced my reluctance to take out insurance, but to no avail as the sales person / advisor I was dealing with was extremely forceful. This in turn lead me to feel obliged to sign the insurance document in the Branch – Which was not my account holding branch, and at which point I received no option to question the insurance, nor was I asked whether I felt it was required.
Secondly, on renewing my loan application, which I did some months later, I was not present in the branch when the paper work was done, nor did I sign it in the branch. The branch in question was Northwich and the renewal was done by a family member and the paperwork given to that person for me to sign at home, again I didnt request or require the PPI, but the assumption was made, and it was included.

I would like to request that you review the recording and or the transcript of the call on which I was sold my PPI, along with the paperwork for the loan renewal and review your decision accordingly.
If I do not receive a more favorable response within 14 days I shall be taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou all

J
• In October last year I contacted Natwest to reclaim PPI taken out on a personal loan on the basis that I had been sold a single premium policy. After much fobbing off, yesterday I received a letter offering me a refund of all PPI payments I had made up to the time that I cancelled the policy. In total I will be receiving just over £1200.

Its worth making the effort to send off the template letter. Do it!!!!

HOW MUCH - TBC but my calculations are at least 2,800 will update when money comes off CC
HOW LONG - sent first letter 27/2. Received letter 1/4 saying they could not find the details and so are returning all premium paid plus interest :j

JUST TO UPDATE

How much - 2651.88 + 687.72 interest = 3339.60 :D:D

I have also received confirmation that all CC charges are being refunded as good will gesture along with interest total = 477

I had a loan from them about 5-6 years ago with ppi but not sure how much the ppi was. The loan was for £3000 and am sure the ppi was nearly the same amount.

We paid the loan off after only a couple of years so have sent them a letter from this site at beginning of march. Got a reply on 15th March saying they will carry out an investigation and reply shortly. Recieved another reply on 14th April saying they are in the process of gathering relevant information and preparing their final response, which will be issued in due course.

Does anyone know of any success stories with these?

Hi i had a loan exactly the same as you and finished paying it a couple of years ago,we wrote to them with a template letter about three months ago and they have just replied denying they missold,we borrowed £3000 and the insurance was frontloaded so we were paying interest on the insurance too! THE PPI WAS £1280! I have gone through moneyclaim online as there is such a long wait with ombudsman who i have another claim with,i will let you know how i get on they have acknowledged my claim but have heard nothing else yet but its really the principle that i was ripped off and pushed into the ppi

Hi
I have a Barclay loan over 5 years theres only 12 months to go, ai made a claim on the PPI insurance that I was sold , and was told that it wouldnt be paid under the existing condition get out clause, I asked to have the PPI cancelled from now on, and was told that if i cancelled the PPI my loan interest would increase from 10.9 to 24.9 , is this legal ???
