  • I Had a car loan with a mis sold PPI attached to it so I wrote to Gowrings only to be told that I signed on the dotted line so therefore I was aware of it, they also said that management had changed since I bought the car.

I used both template letters and they still refused I then filled in the form for the Financial Ombudsman and have just recieved a letter telling me that they can't help me because General Insurance Brokers did not become fully regulated untill January 2005 and I bought my car in September 2004, and also it appears that Gowrings of Basingstoke was not a member of the General Insurance Standards Council so they can not take up my case.

    sad and confused

After 1 simple letter downloaded from the templates I have been offered £522.75 (including 8% interest) back from First Direct dating back to 2004 on PPI premiums added to my credit card.

This is from a bank that says I should have noticed it on my statements .... opps sorry you didn't tick the box that said you wanted PPI .... err .... sign this form and we'll give it you back - mind you I'm still waiting for it to be credited to my account

Watch out MBNA - I'm still waiting for your reply ......
  • Thanks Martin!!!

Reclaimed PPI from Hsbc! have been offered all PPI plus 8% this equates to £2535!!!
Had to go to FSO after they refused twice. They had only covered my husband on the PPI and not me also told us we had to take it! So Many thanks to this brilliant website!!!
  • Sent my 1st template off on the 13th March 2008, since then I have had 2 letters saying they are looking into this, and 2nd letter saying they are still looking into this and need more time!

What kind of tactic do you think alliance and leicester are upto? Is there going to be an law change soon or something or have I got nothing to worry about?

Sent to GE Money for mis selling of ppi on Evans card. I was not in employment at the time of opening card account and shop assistant at the time didnt tell me what I was signing for she knew it that yu had to be in employment to qualify and even though I stated at the beginning I was in receipt of CARERS ALLOWANCE she still sold me the insurance. I paid it for over 7 yrs before I found out it wasnt compulsary.

Wrote to GE Money they wanted proof of misselling so sent hem a letter from DWP saying that i was on CARERS ALLOWANCE.

After only 3 letters they have REFUNDED IN FULL. :D:D:D
  • What where you Reclaiming: A Loan PPI Insurance
Who Was It With: Alliance and Leicester
    How Much: £1865.91
How Far Did It Go: 1st template letter sent, waited around 4 weeks till I got an offer for the money above.

I would never of done this without this website so thanks to all involved with this, will help me with my young family and nearly 2 year old girl settle more into our home thank you again.

The £1865.91 amount, is the amount with no interest do you think I should pursue this amount as well? Or should I just take the first offer?

My son is in the armed forces - and took out a Barclaycard Credit Card. He has applied to have the isurance returned, as he did not know it was being added. As he is away most of the year - I check his statements and tell him what's due, and wrongly assumed that he knew insurance was being added.
He claims he did not sign up for this - and despite requests, Barclaycard have still not issud a copy of the original documents. Any advice on where to go from here?
  • have had three loans from TSB taking out the 2nd before the 1st ended ,so adsding what was left on that loan onto next , as with the 3rd one, did not notice that the ppi was added to the loan amount ,thought it was paid monthly on amount left. As I was self employed at the time of taking the loans out, I wrote to TSB asking for the re-imbursement using the moneysaving template. I have recieved a reply saying that I am not entitled to anything as I am covered? and advice if I dont agree I can contact the ombudsman. What know anyone with any advice please. Thanks GJ51

Hi sorry if this is wrong thread.

I believe I was possibly "mis-sold" PPI on my old Lloyds Access Visa Credit Card.

I can't remember applying to be honest - was some time ago! But I do know that it will have been at a time when I was only working Part-Time (less than 4 hours a week on about £4-£5 an hour), and I would have mentioned working part time on my application... and on the "annual income" figures I would have included this and obviously the benefits I was on at the time.

Anyway, I am now about to apply for Charges reclaim on this credit card, should I include a letter for PPI - or even add it to the template letter for Charges, or should I keep them (charges & ppi) both seperate? In the PPI template letter, it mentions being unemployed/self employed at the time.... would I put that I was unemployed, or should I put that I was employed Part-Time, and also on Benefits (the amount I earned made no difference to my benefit entitlement, as I was in a relationship back then which allowed a certain amount of Income - similar to the £20 week nowadays)
