    HBOS Credit Card PPI
    Claimed £781+interest
    Recieved £843.71

This was the only card I had ever taken PPI when I was young, naive and before the days of MSE!! Wrote in 1 Sep 2007 using template letter on grounds of mis-selling as not being told what it would and would not cover and not being sold in my best interest.
Reply came asking for more time to investigate on 20 Sep and on 2 Nov letter saying complaint upheld on basis that I was student at time of getting card so was not eligible for cover. All payments plus 8% interest credited to my account 7days later which brought balance down.HBOS then cut my credit limit few days later but at least balance lower!
Now reclaiming loan PPI for my husband and mum. Good luck eveyone and ta Martin and all MSE team for fab advice. :j
  • I have two loans with Loyds TSB and claimed back PPI which I believe were mis-sold to me I took the loans out on my online banking which gave me no option but to take PPI. I sent one letter and got a full refund of £850 plus interest which gets taken from the balance of my loans:rotfl: :smileyhea Am well pleased with this result loans will be finished about a year early now:rotfl: .

I've just had a letter back from Capital One saying that I wasn't one of the people mis sold ppi and that I asked for ppi to be added when I applied over the Internet.

It goes on to say that they wrote to me to tell me it was optional and I ticked and signed the letter back to say I wanted it.

Looks like I won't be getting anything back here.

They do say that I had a 30 cooling off period where I could cancel the ppi free of charge, they also say that I can cancel the ppi policy at any time by ringing the number on the letter.

Any idea how much they will charge me to cancel the ppi?

    Hi Sammy
I am also claiming from Lombard for 2 loans with PPI. Sent first letter, and got a big NO from them, saying the forms were signed agreeing to PPI, and there decision was final. I had asked for a copy of my first loan, which they ignored, so wrote again, they sent me a form to fill in, basically saying I allow them to send my details to me? Not had a form like yours tho. They again said there decision was Final, but would send the info. They have up to 12th to send it, then I will be back onto them.Once I have the info I need, I am definetely going to the Ombudsmen, as these loans both had the PPI filled in by Lombard, never had we been told on the phone that it was optional or what the cover was. (My husband was Self Employed). Let me know how you get on, as I cant find anyone on this site who has had success with Lombard yet.

If its anything like a questionnaire i got, it asked all the questions that they should already know, so i sent it back blank with a letter saying that they should know all the info and should not need me to fill in a questionnaire

    hi all,my first post
i took a 25000 loan in feb 2006 with northern rock incl ppi
through template from this site i have withdrawn my ppi
although i have paid 1/3 of the 72 months repayments northern rock
have taken most of the premiums and interest for the ppi as they say
front loaded and the reschedule for my new balance remains the same repayments over the 45 months left over the old loan
can they take the ppi like this?
can i change my mind and not take up the new loan as there is no difference without ppi

Yahoo! Got a letter today from Aqua Credit card they refunding all my premiums paid with interest! I wrote to them as i believe i never requested ppi was set up. They too found no record of me ever asking for PPI cover so they were refunding the lot. It took abou 3 letters to get to this stage they did fob me off initially but persistence pays off!!
