    Hi

I have just recevied a letter from Egg saying that they are refunding me. I only wrote to them about 3 weeks ago!! However I would like the opinion of all you wise and experience people on here.

Egg dont seem to have actually admitted liability for misselling, but neither is good will mentioned anywhere. The letter says:

'After carrying out a full review of your complaint about your loan payment protection insurance (PPI), we have arranged for all premiums charged to your account to be refunded in full, together with the associated interest charges as follows:

    PPI premium on loan: £656.15
Less PPI refund taken off loan (I settled early): £301.72
Refund of interest charged on PPI premium at contractual loan rate. £103.42

    Total refund due: £457.86

They go on to say that a chq is in the post and they have resolved my complaint and therefore consider it closed but I can refer to the FOS if not happy etc...

What I would like someone to clarify... they havent added any extra interest that I asked for as I was deprived of the money. I understand that they dont *have* to do so, but if I went to the FOS I would probably get this, right?

I'm not trying to be greedy, its just the principle of the thing. However, I really could do with the money atm, and if I went to the FOS I would only get back another £50 quid or so, (I think) so is it really worth it?

I also dont know if I should bother cos of all the stress and hassle it will cause me (I have clinical depression and have just been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome!!)

What do you lovely people think?

    Hello there and well done.:beer::T:beer:

Hopefully someone will be along to work this out for you soon, sorry I am hopeless at workings out.....:o.

    Good luck.;)

And the cheques just keep on coming!

I have just received a cheque for £171.32 from MBNA after I chanced my arm with them and went for a general mis-selling of ppi complaint, not in my best interest/not qualified salesperson blah blah!

Time for the Milkybars me thinks!

    I planted the Milkybar seed!

I gave mine to my daughter as she was the one who picked up the post and gave me the envelope with the cheque in it. It will cover the MOT work on my car just about. Going to try with my wife's HSBC card next which she took out in 2003! Odds?

She took it out in branch so there would be no phone calls to listen to and the chances of that person still working there are remote at best. Just wondered about it being so far in the past!

Had 2 loans that had been paid off with PPI, full settlements without interest paid back no need for Ombudsmen! Grand total of £3350.

Will be happier once paid tho'
Thanks Martin, now fighting a couple of Lombard loans which they have rejected but offered a goodwill payment of £750 for one of them!

    Your a star!
