:j:j:jGot a letter today from BOS to say the were upholding my complaint & puting me back in the position I would have been if I hadn't took out PPI - don't know how much yet as they say it will take a month to get the figures to me but none the less I WON!!!!:j:j:j
Here's the interersting bit - my loan was taken out 1995 , my credit card 1988 & they have upheld on both.:D

Good luck to the picturites - I have a feeling in my bones that they are timing the cheques to arrive on a Friday so that you can all have as many of these :beer::beer: at the weekend as you want

This is wonderful hun, well done to you :T:T:j:j

We are new to this forum.
Has anyone made a successful claim against black horse with policy which was originally set up in 2001?
We are just about to post our first letter and are wondering if anyone has experience re what to write and how best to follow up.
    Thanks

    Hello there and welcome.;)

Yes there have been success with BH, it maybe more difficult with older ones but give it a go...as many have still been successful with older cases.
May I ask was this a loan or credit card?
    And is this still active?
It makes no difference either way, but easier for them to track your info down if still active.

You will find templates on this link here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Check this out and the info, checklist of mis selling reasons, and letter templates, whatever reasons apply to you then write them in the letter, remember to enclose account number details, so they can try tracking this down.
You do not need to write the amounts down though, and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Post by recorded delivery - for your proof of posting, and keep at them.

Good luck and let us know how you get on, cheers.;)

  • My husband is too shy to post on here but I thought it was important to share our story as it may help others. My husband had taken out a personal loan with HFC Bank (now Beneficial Finance) back in 1999 and thanks to their extortionate interest rates he was still paying it off until recently when we were able to overpay.
Anyway, he was mis-sold PPI when he took the loan out so after checking Martin's advice and following his procedure, we put a claim for PPI in. 11 months later we were notified by the financial ombudsman that we had won our case despite several e mails and letters from HFC telling us we had no grounds and should give up and save ourselves the hassle. We were hoping for £1,500 to finishing paying the loan off but were gobsmacked when we recieved a settlement amount of £7,000!!!!
My hubby's debt has gone from £15,500 to £3,000 in one year! We had managed to overpay £5,500 ourselves in the year with a lot of hard work and we're now looking at being debt-free in March next year as opposed to April 2011!
All I can say is that the banks will try to put you off so stick to your guns! ALWAYS send correspondence recorded delivery, it's amazing how much "doesn't get recieved" and they'll try to persuade to to follow their in-house dispute procedure but don't go for it. Follow Martin's advice to the letter and you'll be fine.
    Thanks MSE xx

Congragulations Snapdragon - it's a great feelin isn't it! The light is really at the end of the tunnel for you both now - debt free in 5 months time fantastic. What a lovely supportive wife you are as well if you don't mind me saying. £15500 must have seemed like a huge mountain to climb but now you just have that last wee hill - good luck to both of you & well done
  • I bought a car from CARCRAFT in 2005 and stated I DID NOT want PPI, when the contracts came through it had PPI, (finance provided by The Funding Corporation), I called to cancel this and was told I could not as it was a Single premium policy??. I carried on a 3 way complaint between myself, Carcraft and TFC for many months and was told that their decision was final and they would do nothing....I had to pay over £60 per month in PPI for the remainder of the 60 month term! I referred the case to the Financial Ombudsman, it was very long and drawn out process but in June this year I received the Ombudsman decision in my favour, Carcraft (as they had misold the policy) had to pay me back all of my PPI payment to date with 8% interest on top....this amounted to just under £3300. It just goes to show you need to keep going and not give up.

  • Hi all just wanted to let everyone know how we got on with HFC. Wrote to them on 4th sept asking for refund on 2 exisiting loans and 1 old one, 3 weeks later letter offering £1586.89 (inc of 8% interest)!! The only thing we found annoying was they rescehduled loans costing £192.00 however we called and said we were clearing the two existing with the refund. In order not to have to pay the £192.00 we had to lend £1104.00 of family to clear first and then refund was given meaning we still have £482.00 left! fantastic really pleased with this. Anyone claiming from HFC and clearing existing loan be aware they reschedule without asking so call them and advise this is not what you want. They were a bit arsey but hey we have NO dealings with them anymore!!
