    Hi there and welcome.;)

With your reasons, I would write to the ones that sold and arranged this PPI and request they refund you.
You do not need to write the amounts down though.

They have 8 weeks in full to respond, keep at them until they resolve in your favour, or until they issue you with the final response, which should also if eligible have details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can take your complaint to these if your not happy with the outcome.

You can use the templates on the link below if you want to or as a guide, also check on the mis selling checklist as well, in case other reasons occur to you.

  • I have just reclaimed PPI on an Abbey Credit card. I have received £2910.00 . The money was put on the card to reduce the balance .

All i did was use one of the template letters on the MSE website and adapted it slightly for my circumstances. They wrote back advising that it was being loked into. The about 4 weeks later received a phone call to a dvise that it had been looked into and a refund was being issued to me and was put back onto the card to reduce the balance .

  • So, I posted last week that I'd received the standard 28 days letter from MBNA regarding my complaint of being mis-sold PPI insurance on my Credit Card.

Well, on Monday I got a phone call from MBNA customer services to 'discuss' my letter.

I was nervous about it, and worried they'd fob me off. However I stood my ground.

My credit card was originally a Marbles card, taken out in 2003. In 2008 it got taken over by MBNA. It has about £4400 on it.

So I've been paying PPI for 6 years!

MBNA offered me £469 for the duration of the agreement, which I kindly declined (it seemed far too low), and asked the nice lady to mail me a list of all the payments i'd made and the subsequent interest. She agreed, and that was that.

Hour later, the phone goes, and MBNA again, same lady. She apologised, and had been looking at the account and realised the £469 offer was only for September 2008 to present.

She said the rest could be claimed from HFC Bank (Aviemore??) and she's forwarded my letter on to them.

So, I accepted the £469, and it landed in my credit card account today, so that's cleared a nice chunk off.

Now just to wait and hear from HFC for 2003-2008 funds!

I'm hoping it'll be that simple with them!

Question is, should I write to them directly? Or contact them and make sure they've received it?

    Hi Bex and welcome.;)

Yes there have been much success in regards of Barclays.

When you say its been over 6 months since you first claimed, I take it you mean that you sent a letter in for reclaim?

If this is the case and they did not resolve this for you, did you try writing back to them, or the FOS?

    Hi,
Can anyone help me ive just gone through the process of reclaiming my ppi with lloyds tsb and just got a final response to which i think is abit on the low side of £104.36p for a £2,000 loan back in 2005. They said that i was told that the ppi insurance would be put onto loan so for a £2000 loan i was charged £2,980.20 APR plus £789 for ppi :money:a total of £3,769.20p i did realise this when i took out the loan.
i've been in contact with FOS just unsure weather to send it off to them or accept the £104.36
    can anyone help me??

    many Thanks
