Reclaiming PPI for a loan from Egg
    Got back £1870.57
Received having sent the stage one template letter
If I'd realised it would be this straightforward I'd have done it ages ago! I thought I was taking the first step in what would be an ultimately worthwhile but trying battle. Not a bit of it. Wrote to Egg three weeks ago, and have today had the premiums refunded in full, along with associated interest charges. Am astonished and delighted. If you're even vaguely considering starting the process, do it now!
    Thanks Martin.
    CC1: £[STRIKE]3911.92 [/STRIKE] £3730.62
    CC2:[STRIKE] £1665.19[/STRIKE] £1632.05
    OD: £1400
    Total owed 10/04/14: £6977.11
    13/05/14: £6762.67

Hi Mollymoo96, hope your well and sorry to hear this.;)

    Was this their final decision?
Did they mention the FOS on that letter and/or give you the opportunity to write back to them with further information.

I would not give up on this, if not the final response, write back and tell them despite being sold the policy online, you still strongly believe that you were mis sold, due to the reasons you have already provided them with, and ask them to reconsider.

If the final response then yes move on to the FOS, you can download a form from the FOS site or ring to arrange they post this out to you, remember to enclose copies of any correspondence as well.

Good luck with this hun and keep at them, you still have a chance, don't give up.;)

Some firms used pre ticked boxes in earlier days. Yours may have been sold on this basis and the FSA thought it unfair and stopped it so do not give up. You're fight is not over yet.

Won against firstplus recently. Full ppi + interest but the interesting thing was they first refused the complaint as the loan had finished over 6 years ago, saying time had expired.

step in the FOS and a 5 weeks later we get a result.

thankyou to this excellent site !!

well still waiting for the cheque :-(
