Thanks Di your posts were really helpful, thanks to this site and all the people that post info too. I have to wait up to 12 weeks for them to deposit the money into my account, it will help lower my credit card... hopefully this side of christmas
Well done, and so happy for you and with pleasure.:T:TThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Direct Line caved in straight away - I actually started speaking to the same person for both a Direct Line and Lombard claim (they are part of the same chainm).
Direct Line took 2 letters and they sent a letter asking if I would accept an offer for the full amount reclaimed (without interest) - I said yes and, after having to chase them for the cheque, they caved in. The same guy handling the Lombard claim said no - they offered £750 as a goodwill gesture which I said no to. This makes me think that if you claim back under a certain amount (which I would guess is about £1500), they cave in after initially trying to put you off. If above this, they seem to offer the £750.
I finally won theLlombard reclaim by proving to them that the Lombard agreement was done by their "next day motorcycle courier service" - a courier waited for 15 minutes on the doorstep whilst you read and signed the agreement and then handed over a cheque. They said they had never offered this service so I sent them the evidence that they had in black and white. I argued that this does not give enough time to read all their terms fully and they could not really argue, so caved in !
Good luck with it - it's definately worth the effort ! Remember - they are quick enough to chase you if you miss a payment, so play them at their own game !
Thanks for the info, I will def be sticking at it. Its only been a few weeks since I sent my reclaim letter away so fingers crossed! Thanks again, Gill0 -
What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
Who was the provider: Alliance and Leicester
How much did you get back: 1500
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1 letter
And then write your brief reclaim tale: Sent a letter 3 weeks ago applying for money plus interest together with copy of loan agreement taken out November 204. Got a letter saying they were looking into it last week and got home this evening to say they are offering £1500 including interest. Considering we cleared loan off early i reckoned we might get £1300 so couple of hundred quick extra a real bonus.

Anyone out there had any success with reclaiming credit card with MINT even if they have had the card and policy for a long time. In their reply to my first letter they are making the excuse that they cannot investigate my case as I got my card with them in 1999 - although it and the ppi are still ongoing. They say that they are confident that I will get no joy from the FOS either. Is this their usual ploy or am I wasting my time?0

Hi Guys Advice needed I have just had a letter back from Barclaycard asking me to fill in a questionaire, is this some sort of trap ?? I do not want to send it back but do I need to ?? Looking forward to your advice
I had one of these, and like you thought it was some sort of trap or delay tactic. I filled it in with the minimum of info, returned it and approx 3 weeks later just before I was off to the FOS I got all my PPI ins back plus interest totalling £4084.0 -
well, I've even saved myself the price of a stamp (and Egg using the excuse that they didnt receive the letter) by sending the request via thier 'contact us' button in my account! fingers crossed!!!
I still have an existing complaint (Not PPI related) with egg - they ignored 3 of my messages (All complaints) sent via their Secure messaging system - all appeared in my sent items but none were ever replied to.
Send it recorded and you'll get a response, I sent mine on a Saturday and the following Tuesday I had acknowledgement in writing from them with a reference number.0 -
Hi all,
Haven't been on for a while as I've been waiting for the outcome of my claim against Loans.co.uk which went to the FOS and has taken over 18 months to be dealt with!! I finally got their decision - they upheld my claim - and Loans.co.uk are now supposed to be paying out. However, Loans.co.uk have now exceeded the 8 week time limit given by the FOS to contact me with details of my payout. I contacted the FOS last Wednesday who emailed Loans.co.uk. Up to today still no response!!! I am quietly seething...............
Thank you0
