    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: First Template letter
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
Egg told me that I needed the PPI cover to get the loan, then I was signed off work half way through the loan and tried to claim and was told I wasn't covered as I was on full pay - Didn't think anything of it until I found this site!

Just have this claim and 1 outstanding for Lombard who told me the same thing about needing the PPI to get the loan!

Well done and Congratulations to you.

I have had fantastic success claiming PPI from all the cards I have had it on!

If you are still thinking about claiming, stop thinking and write a letter. You do not have to do any donkey work the card companies do that all for you. I used the template and sent it to my 2 credit cards and 2 store cards and this is what I have had back.
    • Halifax One Card £598
    • Abbey Platinum £126
    • Dorothy Perkins £278
    • Burtons £87
Thats a cool £1089! :T And in this time of doom and gloom this could not have come at a better time. I had absolutley no problems getting my money back either all letters sent and responded to within 14 days and cheque in the post 14 days after that!

    Fantastic, Congratulations and Well done.

What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
    Who was the provider: Lloyds
How much did you get back: 2500
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Ombudsman, it took about 3 months from the date I sent in the fos complaint forms
And then write your brief reclaim tale

PPI was added to my graduate loan in 2001 as a pre paid one off payment. I never requested the ppi and thought it was a condition of the loan as the documents were filled in for me and it was not discussed as far as I can remember. Lloyds still maintain that it was not mis sold but on a 'good will basis' will repay the full payment and intrest + 200 compensation. I only questioned if I had ppi on the loan during a frustrating call about my credit card ppi, so I am very pleased!! Still waiting on the credit card...

Thanks Di your posts were really helpful, thanks to this site and all the people that post info too. I have to wait up to 12 weeks for them to deposit the money into my account, it will help lower my credit card... hopefully this side of christmas ;)

Hi there & Well Done on your success,
I'm just about to put my reclaim in with Direct Line. How did you find dealing with them & did you have to go through FOS? How long did it take from start of your claim to the settlement? Hope you don't mind me asking. Gil8967

    Hi,

Direct Line caved in straight away - I actually started speaking to the same person for both a Direct Line and Lombard claim (they are part of the same chainm).

Direct Line took 2 letters and they sent a letter asking if I would accept an offer for the full amount reclaimed (without interest) - I said yes and, after having to chase them for the cheque, they caved in. The same guy handling the Lombard claim said no - they offered £750 as a goodwill gesture which I said no to. This makes me think that if you claim back under a certain amount (which I would guess is about £1500), they cave in after initially trying to put you off. If above this, they seem to offer the £750.

I finally won theLlombard reclaim by proving to them that the Lombard agreement was done by their "next day motorcycle courier service" - a courier waited for 15 minutes on the doorstep whilst you read and signed the agreement and then handed over a cheque. They said they had never offered this service so I sent them the evidence that they had in black and white. I argued that this does not give enough time to read all their terms fully and they could not really argue, so caved in !

Good luck with it - it's definately worth the effort ! Remember - they are quick enough to chase you if you miss a payment, so play them at their own game !
