    • What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
    • Who was the provider: Halifax
    • How much did you get back: £4130
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: One template letter
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale: Wow!!! I'm reeling! Took out a 15k loan in 2001, took it out in a branch of Halifax, their salesperson was incredibly pushy with the PPI and didn't explain it fully at all. Anyway, halifax obviously agreed - they paid back over 4k onto the loan after just one letter (yes, a cheque would have been nice, but it has massively reduced what i have to pay back....) so I am over the moon.
Things like this never happen to me - thanks so much to everyone on here. And, I have to say how impressed I am with the Halifax - they handled this so quickly and efficiently, credit where credit is due.
Pounds, shillings and pence; I caught a dirty wench, I gave a cough, her leg fell off, pounds shillings and pence :rotfl:

  • Thanks to this site = woot:T

Barclays - after the second letter barclays replied with stating that they could find the paperwork and then refunded the full amount i was after plus 8% internest from a loan - Just under £2500.

many thanks - beers are on me :)

You must be a lucky person, im currently reclaiming my ppi been on-going for 12 weeks rang them today and they have told me there is a 6 month back log. Has anybody else caught wind of this or are they phobing me off. And also do u think its time now to consider using the FOS route? Will it be any quicker .

If you ring the FOS they might be able to look into the 6 month back log excuse.

Rang FOS told them about 6 month back log they didn't seem to be bothered. Now im just standard procedure fill in complaint form and wait. does this method of complaint work better than just coresponding with the bank? Anyway let you know how things go thanks.

Hi lugsy if Barclays are going to uphold your claim they will let you know via the FOS so the waiting time is about the same as if you hadnt gone to the FOS (although the 6 month delay may disapear!)
If Barclays say you werent mis sold then at least your complaint is with the FOS now.

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some help PLEASE!!!

I've been looking through all the posting's for the last few day's and i have now noticed i have been paying PPI on 2 credit cards. One is with Virgin Money and the other is with Egg. I've had both cards since 2003/2004. My Egg card was at it's £6,200 limit for roughly 5 years and i was paying roughly £54 a month PPI. My Virgin card was at its limit of £10,000 for roughly 3 years but i'm not to sure how much PPI was was paying as i can only look back at statements for the last 12 months.

I've now sent away the first template letter's. Can someone please give me a heads up if they think i will receive anything back and how much will it be roughly??

    Thanks
